Good morning
Welcome to today's top news.
Leading the News . . .
The Democratic faces of American fascism . . . American fascism is here. The leaders of the Democrat Party are increasingly embracing its principles and the faces of this terrifying turn for our society are not hiding in the shadows, obfuscating their methods, or spinning their motives. Backed by their allies in Big Tech and the left-wing media who dutifully serve as Ministers of Propaganda, the monitoring, censoring, intimidation, and
punishment have begun.
Fascism has several key attributes, including severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition.
Attorney General Merrick Garland is the capo tasked with weaponizing the government against dissent. While homicides and crime skyrocket, the Department of Justice is training its sights on what they call “the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel.” Washington Times
An authoritarian regime is emerging in front of our own eyes. We must fight the fight to keep America Free. Theres' nowhere to go if we lose this one.
Another thank you from your Editor . . . I am still receiving heartwarming messages, in response to my note about my Mom's birthday and the untimely death at 55 years of age in the USSR. Socialism and its inhumane nature took her away from us. Thank you for your overwhelming love and support. Apologies for taking a little while to respond to your personal notes. Rebekah
Grassley's embrace of Trump shakes GOP landscape . . . Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-Iowa) enthusiastic appearance at a Trump event in Iowa over the weekend shows that the former president has further strengthened his grip on the GOP following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. The Iowa senator’s eagerness to stand next to Trump at a boisterous rally in Des Moines only days after Trump repeatedly trashed Senate Minority
Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) — a friend and ally of Grassley — served as a wake-up call to some Republicans that Trump is back and very much in charge of the party. Grassley, 88, has worked carefully over his four decades in the Senate to cultivate a reputation as a politician completely in step with Iowans who cherish family values, hard work, ethical behavior and integrity. No. 2 House Republican refuses to say election wasn’t stolen . . . The House’s second-ranking Republican, Rep. Steve Scalise, repeatedly refused to say on Sunday that the 2020 election wasn’t stolen, standing by Donald Trump’s claim that Democrat Joe Biden won the White House because of mass voter fraud. Scalise was unwilling during a national television interview to acknowledge the legitimacy of the vote, instead sticking to his
belief that the election results should not have been certified by Congress. “I’ve been very clear from the beginning,” he said. “If you look at a number of states, they didn’t follow their state-passed laws that govern the election for president. That is what the United States Constitution says. They don’t say the states determine what the rules are. They say the state legislatures determine the rules,” the Louisiana congressman said on “Fox News Sunday.” Washington Times
Bannon's subpoena snub sets up big decision for Biden DOJ . . . Former Trump White House strategist Stephen Bannon’s choice to buck a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol could tee up a big decision for a Justice Department determined to strike an independent tone. The House committee has said it may refer Bannon for criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice (DOJ) if he doesn’t appear for a
deposition slated for Thursday.
Such a move would place Attorney General Merrick Garland in the center of a debate over whether to go after a former right-hand man of Donald Trump after vowing to restore the reputation of a department that was deeply politicized under the prior administration. The Hill
Kamala Harris heads to bakery instead of meeting on Mexican cartels . . . Because priorities are priorities. These people are flooding drugs across the border. Seems like meeting with the Mexican president qualifies as “root causes” of migration that Vice President Harris is in charge of. But cakes and cookies!
And btw, when is President Biden going to the border? How come nobody cares about that? White House Dossier

‘Wake up’: Ex-Air Force software officer warns China is winning AI battle . . . The Air Force’s first chief software officer has quit and is warning that the U.S. is losing the cyber and artificial intelligence race with China. If the U.S. government does not wake up immediately, Nicolas Chaillan says there will be no stopping China from winning the fight. Mr. Chaillan, 37, left the government in September, and his admonitions for
America to change course have captured the attention of Washington from Capitol Hill to the Department of Defense. He said he has received death threats from critics of his warnings about China’s advantage in AI and cyber. Washington Times
More Than 100 Illegal Immigrants Found Near Southern Border, Most Unaccompanied Minors . . . More than 100 illegal immigrants, mostly unaccompanied children, were recently discovered by border agents in San Miguel and Three Points, near Tucson, the acting chief patrol agent of the U.S. Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector said on Monday. “A group of 125 migrants surrendered to #ThreePoints Station agents near San Miguel, Arizona. Nearly three
quarters were unaccompanied children,” Sabri Y. Dikman wrote on Twitter, sharing a photo of the individuals discovered at the U.S.-Mexico border. “Large groups of mostly children continue to be exploited by smugglers who leave them at the border for agents to encounter,” he added. Epoch

Shiite militiaman reached U.S. posing as Iraqi refugee . . . An Iraqi man admitted to immigration fraud last week, saying he cheated America’s refugee system by lying about his past as a member of an Iranian-funded Shiite militia in order to win asylum in the U.S. Chasib Hafedh Saadoon Al Fawadi entered the U.S. in 2016, when then-President Obama was pushing to resettle tens of thousands of refugees from the Middle East amid accusations
that the system wasn’t able to properly vet them.
As the U.S. opens its arms to tens of thousands of Afghans, Al Fawadi’s case raises questions anew about the ability of federal authorities to vet applications and weed out dangerous or otherwise undeserving migrants. Washington Times
Biden Exempts Some Crimes by Illegal Immigrants as Basis for Deportation . . . Federal immigration officials no longer will view unlawful entry into the country as the sole basis for detaining and deporting illegal immigrants, under a new Biden administration policy. The policy will limit deportation to what immigration officials call aggravated felons, such as violent gang members and others who commit violent crimes. Critics of
President Joe Biden’s new policy as stated by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas note that it will allow those who commit domestic violence, drunk drivers, and others convicted of crimes to stay in America—amid an ongoing border crisis. Daily Signal

US shifts towards accepting Assad regime. Israel is caught unawares . . . The US is upending its decade-long policy of condemnation for the Assad regime, a senior US official revealed this week. “Although the Biden administration itself may not be welcoming Assad back into the fold with open arms, it has clearly left open the door for others to do so…” and, said the official, “…will not act to prevent or reverse US allies re-engaging with
and normalizing Assad’s regime.”
The presence of Iranian and Hizballah forces in Syria, a vital issue of concern to Israel, was not mentioned in the comment. Other Washington sources pointed to the high significance to this move of the Jordanian King Abdullah’s visit to the White House on July 19, although the Israel government and its new heads remained oblivious to what was happening. In fact, the king was given to understand by President Joe Biden that he would not be held to US sanctions if he went ahead to
re-engage with Damascus. DEBKAfile
Gas shortage would be eased with better relations, Russian ambassador tells EU . . . A top Russian official suggested that better diplomatic treatment of Russia by the European Union would insulate EU members from energy shortages like they are experiencing now, indicating that Russia, already responsible for a significant share of the EU's gas imports, is looking to gain further advantage from Europe's vulnerabilities. Russian EU
ambassador Vladimir Chizhov said the bloc, which last week saw what amounted to a nearly tenfold increase in spot gas prices since the beginning of the year, would be in a better position to remedy price hikes were it more amicable to its major natural gas-exporting neighbor. Washington Examiner

The Pentagon’s Vaccine Mandate Is Driving Yet Another Wedge Between Troops And Leadership . . . The Pentagon’s vaccine mandate for all military service members is creating a divide among troops and leadership, and some of the former group are choosing to leave the service entirely rather than be forced to get vaccinated. A substantial number of the military’s most elite operators, including Navy SEALs and fighter
pilots, are seeking an exemption from the vaccine mandate, and many of those individuals are planning a change of career if an exemption is not granted. Active members of multiple branches of the armed services, who spoke to the Daily Caller on the condition of anonymity so they could speak freely, described being subjected to pressure campaigns and experiencing worsening morale as the Pentagon rolls out its mandate before the end of the year. Daily Caller
Abbott bans vaccine mandates from any 'entity in Texas' . . . Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed an executive order on Monday that bans coronavirus vaccine mandates from being implemented by any “entity in Texas,” the latest move in the state’s crusade against the requirements amid the ongoing pandemic. Abbott's order says that groups and businesses in Texas are not permitted to require proof of vaccination from individuals who object to the
shots for “any reason of personal conscience.” It comes in response to President Biden's mandate announced last month that all businesses with 100 or more employees require their workforces get vaccinated or regularly tested. The Hill

Inflation across the board, people need to get used to higher prices: Kraft Heinz CEO . . .
Consumers need to prepare for a permanent increase in food prices, according to Kraft Heinz CEO Miguel Patricio. Patricio said that inflation is "across the board," leading to a price increase in several countries. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the U.N. marked an increase in the Food Price Index in September, up 1.2% compared to the same month last year. "We are raising prices, where necessary, around the world," Patricio said in an interview with the BBC. He
noted a number of factors in various countries have driven the "necessary" increase. Fox Business
Art gallery featuring Hunter Biden paintings received massive Covid loan . . . “A federal COVID loan to the art gallery repping Hunter Biden more than doubled after his father took office, records show. “The Georges Berges Gallery initially received a $150,000 COVID “disaster assistance loan” from the Small Business Administration last year, according to public records. “But the loan was recently “revised,” with the SBA approving a
further $350,000 to the SoHo gallery this summer, records show. The approval came on July 26, in the lead-up to Berges’ exclusive marketing of 15 paintings by the president’s scandal-scarred son, public records show. White House Dossier

Kamala Harris used over-enthusiastic child actors for space video . . . Vice President Kamala Harris’s YouTube space series featured child actors in its first installment. The YouTube Original Series, entitled “Get Curious with Vice President Harris,” is aimed at getting children interested in space and included an appearance by NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough from the International Space Station. But the children featured in the first
installment of the series were child actors, including 13-year-old Trevor Bernardino. White House Dossier
Not only did she sound phony in it, the whole thing was phony.
Jon Kent, Superman’s son, comes out as bisexual in upcoming comic . . . Mild-mannered daily-newspaper reporter Clark Kent ducked into a phone booth to transform into Superman, the “man of steel” who leaped tall buildings in a single bound. Jon Kent, the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane and his father’s superhero successor, came out as bisexual Monday, which also happens to be the 33rd National Coming Out Day, according to the Human
Rights Campaign. The younger Kent emerged from neither a phone booth nor a closet — but in an illustration of him in his red-and-yellow “S” suit locking lips with character Jay Nakamura, a teen who is described as a nascent journalist with “special abilities.” Washington Times
I wonder how many normal kids "came out" yesterday because of the pressure and glamorization of this whole thing. National Coming Out Day?! Seriously?
I am not against gay folks. Have had friends like that. But radicals must leave our children alone. It's enough already.
Congress looks to strengthen government's aging cyber infrastructure . . . Congress is working to funnel resources to beef up state and local government cyber infrastructure after the COVID-19 pandemic forced municipalities to move many essential operations to aging and vulnerable online sources.
Included in the bipartisan infrastructure bill passed by the Senate in August is $1 billion to shore up government cybersecurity after a year in which hackers took full advantage of targeting systems. Officials say lessons have been learned. “Cybersecurity has been the No. 1 issue and priority for state chief information officers,” Matt Pincus, the director of government affairs at the National Association of State Chief Information Officers, told The Hill
Blah, blah, blah.
Google Suspends American Principles Project YouTube Account . . . Google suspended the YouTube account of conservative think tank American Principles Project (APP) on Monday, president Terry Schilling told the Daily Caller. “At 6:30am, American Principles Project received an email from YouTube notifying us that our page was shut down. They failed to give us any reason why whatsoever. Just that we had either ‘severe or repeated violations’
of their community guidelines,” Schilling said. Schilling tweeted a screenshot of the email YouTube sent APP noting the ban. YouTube did not explain which guidelines APP broke but did offer Schilling the opportunity to appeal his suspension. Daily Caller

Bear struggles to steal large pumpkin from Ontario porch . . . An Ontario family's home security camera was rolling when a bear visited their front porch to steal a large pumpkin -- and found the task more difficult than expected. Ashley Larose, of Sudbury, said she had just finished putting up the fall decorations on her front porch when the home had a late night visit from a hungry bear.
Larose said the bear already had eaten a couple of smaller pumpkins when it attempted to walk off with a large one. The video recorded by Larose's security camera shows the bear attempting unsuccessfully to carry the pumpkin in its paws, before switching to carrying the gourd with its mouth. The bear makes it only a short distance before losing its grip. Larose said the bear ended up leaving the pumpkin behind. UPI
