Woke Nonsense is Warping Everyday Life . . . By
Victor Davis Hanson. Americans are growing angrier by the day, but in a way different from prior sagebrush revolts such as the 1960s Silent Majority or the Tea Party movement over a decade ago. The rage this time is not just fueled by conservatives. For the first time in their lives, Americans of all classes and races are starting to fear a self-created apocalypse that threatens their family's safety and the American way of life. The border is not just porous as in the
pre-Trump past. It is arguably nonexistent. Some 2 million people may cross illegally in the current fiscal year, according to reports -- with complete impunity. There is zero effort to stop them. Officials hector Americans daily to get vaccinated and tested for COVID-19. But they are mute about illegal entrants, some of them no doubt infected with the virus.
Have we ever had a president who made no pretense about destroying federal immigration law and asking of Americans what he does not ask of those entering the country illegally? Joe Biden has also conceded that his moratorium on housing evictions defied a Supreme Court ruling. He added that he probably didn't have the legal authority to ignore the court but didn't really care.
As in the case of demolishing immigration law, the president seems either unaware or proud that he is insidiously dismantling the Constitution. America has also never before seen such overt and multifaceted efforts to undermine the foundations of free-market capitalism. Townhall
US government wants a greater role in how Americans access Internet . . . President Biden’s bid to inject government deeper into the private sector is getting its first big test in the broadband industry. Congress on Tuesday advanced legislation that allocates $65 billion in new taxpayer money to expand high-speed internet access for millions of unconnected households—by far the largest allocation of federal funds ever earmarked for
broadband. The Senate approved it as part of the broader $1 trillion infrastructure bill passed on Tuesday. The measure still requires House approval, where the path is more complicated.
The legislation would wire communities across the country that companies haven’t reached and subsidize bills for low-income households. Private companies would be required to publish details about their products, much like nutrition labels, and offer low-cost service plans if they take federal funds to help build networks. The legislation recasts broadband service as a necessity, more akin to water and electricity, to which everyone should have access. "It’s a more robust government role in a
key part of the economy," said Bharat Ramamurti, deputy director of the White House National Economic Council. Fox Business

Redistricting sprint begins with major census data drop . . . The Census Bureau's long-awaited release of redistricting data Thursday will unleash a torrent of new state political maps in the weeks and months to come, starting with the handful of states pressed against early fall deadlines to enact new district boundaries. Altogether, the maps could tilt control of Congress for the next decade, but they’ll come out one
by one at first. Strategists from both parties predict that some states will finalize maps as soon as September and that roughly half of the states will set their new lines by the end of the year. The rest will follow in the first few months of 2022. Politico
DNC members grow frustrated over increasing White House influence . . . Democratic National Committee (DNC) members are growing increasingly frustrated by the White House’s influence on their political operation, causing friction between aides to President Biden and the leading party organization promoting its agenda. The amount of participation from top Biden allies has been significant so early into the president’s first term and has
happened before some committee-wide decisions have been settled internally. For some within the DNC, it’s all just a little too much too soon. “People are super frustrated in the trenches around what’s happening with the DNC and the White House’s control of it,” said a DNC member, who asked to speak on the condition of anonymity to candidly discuss the internal dynamics at play. “The White House is not thinking about how to build the electorate writ large, but they’re
concentrating on [a] few states,” the source said. “It’s all about [the] presidential re-elect.” The Hill
Climate Czar John Kerry’s private jet continues to ruin the climate . . . Looks like a lot of the flights are just around the Northeast. What about just using the Amtrak train line the Biden administration is so eager to subsidize? Or hitting the beach in Cape Cod instead of Martha’s Vineyard? So far this year, John Kerry’s family jet has already emitted 30 times the amount of carbon emitted by a typical passenger vehicle per
year. A Fox News review of flight data and an industry emissions calculator found that the jet emitted an estimated 138 metric tons of carbon on trips dating from Jan. 10 to Aug. 6. The numbers come as Kerry, President Biden’s climate envoy, emphasizes the need for climate action amid the United Nation’s latest report. White House Dossier

Senate passes Cotton’s amendment preventing federal funds from promoting CRT in school . . . The U.S. Senate has voted to pass an amendment that would prohibit the federal funding of the toxic and divisive teaching known as critical race theory in the nation’s schools. The amendment which was introduced by Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas was approved 50-49 as a part of the budget reconciliation package and represents another
step in the right direction of fighting the indoctrination of children who face shaming because of their skin color and are taught a version of history that falsely promotes the idea that America was founded on the principles of racism and slavery.
Cotton took to Twitter to announce the amendment’s passage, writing that “Our future depends on raising a generation of kids who love America.” Business & Politics Review
Dems shudder at ‘Kamala 2024’ . . . By Miranda Devine. Opinion. It was one year ago Wednesday that Kamala Harris was announced as Joe Biden’s running mate. That auspicious moment catapulted the stone-cold loser of the Democratic presidential contest into prime time, a heartbeat away from the Oval Office. With the convenient defenestration of her main rival, handsy, outgoing Gov. Cuomo, the ambitious 56-year-old vice president is
another step closer to the 2024 nomination — or 2028, if you believe Biden. The problem for the Democrats is that she is unelectable. It’s the fake laughter, the handmaidenly comportment around Biden, the car-crash interviews and the complete inability to succeed at any of the tasks she has been handed, from immigration to vaccination. Not for nothing was billed the “most unpopular vice president in 50 years” by UK broadsheet The Daily Telegraph. She’s so unpopular that
Hillary Clinton staffers, of all people, reportedly have been consulted for likability lessons. Naturally, they blamed “sexism” for Kamala’s troubles. New York Post
Trumpworld believe he wants to run again — and that the people want him . . . There is growing sentiment inside Trump circles that the former president’s supporters want him to run again — and that he is eager to accept the challenge. Spurred by two former top Trump aides predicting he will run and a long list of planned rallies this year, the Republican’s supporters are starting to gear up for a 2024 bid on social media and in their
front yards, displaying Trump 2024 flags. “The energy is still out there,” said a key insider. “They want him back for another run.”
His friends describe the president as eager to entertain another campaign, though it is not a lock and depends on how the 2022 midterm election goes. White House Dossier
Trump says he spoke with Ashli Babbitt's family as he calls for 'justice' . . . Former President Donald Trump said he spoke with the family of Ashli Babbitt, the Air Force veteran who was shot and killed by an unidentified officer during the Jan. 6 Capitol siege, and demanded "justice" over the incident. Babbitt, a 35-year-old Trump supporter, was shot as Capitol Police evacuated members of Congress during the riot. She was transported to
Washington Hospital Center, where she died from her injuries. The officer who pulled the trigger has not been identified, and federal authorities have divulged little information regarding the shooting. "I spoke to the wonderful mother and devoted husband of Ashli Babbitt, who was murdered at the hands of someone who should never have pulled the trigger of his gun," the 45th president said in his latest tweemail statement. Speed of Taliban Advance Surprises Biden Administration, Dismays U.S. Allies . . . When President Biden this spring announced the decision to withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan, his administration expected the Afghan military to defend key cities and perhaps battle the Taliban to a stalemate.
Before the current Taliban offensive, U.S. officials said they didn’t expect the takeover of any provincial capital until fall at the earliest. Instead, a carefully planned strategy carried out by the Taliban has produced swift battlefield advances, allowing insurgents to seize a succession of provincial capitals since Friday. Three more fell Tuesday, bringing the total to nine, including several major cities. The latest U.S. intelligence assessment said Kabul could fall to
militants in as soon as a month, officials said. U.S. officials now worry that Afghan civilians, soldiers and others will flee the city ahead of a Taliban assault. The rapid collapse of regular Afghan forces has dismayed allies, including those that have contributed troops to the U.S.-led coalition, and revived worries about the value of U.S. commitments overseas. Wall Street Journal
It would help if the "experts" had a viable strategy, realistic goals -- rather than some delusions about democratizing Afghanistan -- and a definition of victory, BEFORE going in and sacrificing young American lives and hard-earned treasure. Should've asked the Soviets how it worked out for them.
This is messed up.
China, Russia Hold Military Drills Amid Security Concerns in Afghanistan, Central Asia . . . About 10,000 troops from China and Russia are carrying out joint military exercises in northwestern China to test some of the People’s Liberation Army’s newest weapons and signal unity on common security concerns such as Afghanistan. The drills, which kicked off Monday in Ningxia region, are focused on counterterrorism and jointly
maintaining security and stability in the region. Chinese state media said Wednesday that the military exercises were the first China has held with another country since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. China and Russia hold air, land and sea exercises routinely, projecting power when it comes to areas of common interest like North Korea and the disputed East China Sea. Exercises by two U.S. strategic adversaries are focused on counterterrorism and maintaining stability. Wall Street Journal
Contrary to the Intelligence Community's assessment that Russia and China are strengthening its "strategic partnership," these too are simply in a marriage of convenience. Russia considers China its security threat #2, after the U.S./NATO. Our intelligence "experts" simply have been fooled by another piece of 'dezinformaiton.' They were similarly tricked by Putin's "Russia-Trump collusion" dezinformation in 2016. Once fooled by the Russians, the corrupt IC officials, like
Comey, Clapper, and Brennan, with the help of the leftist media, deployed Putin's Playbook against the American people by spreading the "collusion" lies.
Recommendation to the intelligence "experts" : study and know America's adversaries. Maybe learn a foreign language, so you can debrief a source in their native tongue.

China unveils five-year plan to strengthen control of economy . . . China has released a five-year plan to strengthen regulatory control over strategic sectors including technology and healthcare, in Beijing’s latest push to assert Communist party supremacy over the world’s
second-largest economy. The party’s Central Committee and the State Council, or cabinet, jointly released a policy document late on Wednesday that would expand government legislation and build a modern regulatory environment to “meet people’s ever-growing demands for a good life.” The plan’s release followed a series of regulatory measures that have stunned investors in Chinese business and knocked tens of billions of dollars off the valuations of some of the country’s biggest tech groups. Beijing appeared to use the release to provide direction on the breadth and duration of its regulatory
overhaul, even though the wide-ranging document did not provide a list of specific instructions or measures. Analysts said the crackdown would intensify. Financial Times
New US Energy Security Advisor to Tackle Russia’s Potential Use of ‘Energy as a Weapon’ in Europe . . . U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday appointed a senior advisor for energy security whose immediate focus will be mitigation of risks posed by Russia’s Nord Stream 2 gas
pipeline to energy security in Europe. Amos Hochstein, a former diplomat, was nominated a senior advisor for Energy Security at the Department and he’s been tasked with implementing measures recently agreed by the United States and Germany to reduce the risk of Russia using energy as a weapon. Hochstein, who held a number of senior advisor positions in the government and the private sector, was also a special envoy for international energy affairs and an assistant secretary of state
for energy resources during President Barack Obama’s tenure. Russia will likely use energy as a weapon against Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe, as the Nord Stream 2 pipeline—which will transport Russian gas to Europe— nears completion. Epoch Times
Self-licking ice-cream cone - first Biden gives Putin a gift on removing sanctions from Nord Stream 2; then he vows to fight Russia's use of energy as a weapon in Europe. The government is run by a bunch of clowns, as DJT would say.

U.S. employers get religion with vaccine mandates . . . As coronavirus infections rise again, U.S. companies mandating vaccinations are confronting an uncomfortable question rarely asked by an employer - what is an employee's religious belief? Google's parent Alphabet, Walmart, and Tyson Foods are among the growing list of employers requiring some or all staff to get the COVID-19 vaccine. But with each mandate comes exceptions.
Employers have to make reasonable accommodations for staff who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons or refuse vaccination because of "sincerely held religious beliefs," according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Reuters
Fox News Poll: Americans Support Vaccine Mandates And Passports . . . A new poll conducted by Fox News shows that Americans are generally receptive to the idea of vaccine passports and mandates. Fifty percent of respondents to the poll said that they favor cities and towns requiring all customers and workers to have proof of a coronavirus vaccine for “indoor activities such as restaurants, gyms and performances,” compared to 46% who
opposed. Forty-four percent said they were more likely to shop at a store that required customers and workers to be vaccinated, or have a recent negative COVID-19 test, compared to just 24% who were less likely. Fifty percent of those polled said “protecting the safety of Americans” by requiring the vaccine to participate in everyday activities was more important than “protecting the freedom” of Americans to choose whether or not they are vaccinated. Forty-seven percent of respondents said
the latter is more important. Daily Caller

Washington Squeezes Middle America . . . Beltway policies are driving the household budget troubles millions of us face. The great malaise of Joe “Carter” Biden continues. Consumer prices rose 5.4% in July over the same month last year, continuing the inflationary trend of 2021. A record 10.1 million job openings were posted in June, as employers continue to struggle to find workers. The unemployed are often
paid more not to work. That drives up wages as businesses are forced to compete with the government for workers, and it also causes problems with the supply chain. Those issues in turn drive up prices of consumer goods and services. I.e., inflation. Meanwhile, Congress continues to flood the economy with money through gargantuan “emergency” spending bills. Increased demand with suppressed supply yields inflation. “Since the start of the pandemic, 54% of the new federal debt ($2.8 trillion)
has come from newly printed cash flooded into the economy by the Fed.” Government policy is driving this malaise. Patriot Post
Inflation still rising as Biden prepares to pump vast sums into the economy . . . On the same day Senate Democrats approved an inflation-driving $3.5 trillion spending authorization, the Department of Labor announced that inflation continues at rates not seen in more than a decade. Inflation remained elevated in July, as the economy continued to rebound amid pandemic-related shortages of labor and supplies. The Labor Department
reported Wednesday that its consumer-price index rose 5.4% in July from a year earlier, the same pace as in June and the highest 12-month rate since 2008. The CPI climbed a seasonally adjusted 0.5% in July from June, a slightly cooler pace than its 0.9% increase in June from May. White House Dossier
San Francisco salon owner who exposed Pelosi talks about losing her business a year later . . . It's been nearly a year since former San Francisco salon owner Erica Kious shuttered her business after exposing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for getting her hair washed and blown out despite coronavirus restrictions. "I thought if I ever lost my business, I would have lost it in an earthquake," Kious said Tuesday at Heritage Action’s Save Our
Paychecks Tour kick-off event in Fresno. "Never did I ever think that I would have lost everything I worked for by leftist politics. Gone." Fox News obtained surveillance video last summer of Pelosi visiting the salon for a hair wash and blowout, despite local ordinances keeping salons closed amid the coronavirus pandemic. Fox News
A family feud is brewing over the regulation of the $2 trillion crypto business . . . Three agencies inside the Biden administration are at odds with each other over who will take the lead in regulating cryptocurrencies and the broader digital coin business. Complicating matters, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., may be tilting the scales in favor of one of them, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter. People at the
Commodity Futures Trading Commission – widely considered by securities lawyers to hold the most statutory authority to regulate crypto – say that Warren has been quietly assisting the efforts of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler to become uber-regulator of digital currencies. Pope Francis Is Tearing the Catholic Church Apart . . . Pope Francis recently released a document, Traditionis Custodes, accusing Catholics like us of being subversives. To protect the “unity” of the church, he abolished the permissions Pope Benedict XVI gave us in 2007 to celebrate a liturgy, the heart of which remains unchanged since the seventh century. For Catholics, how we pray shapes what we believe. The old
ritual physically aims us toward an altar and tabernacle. In that way it points us to the cross and to heaven as the ultimate horizon of man’s existence. By doing so, it shows that God graciously loves us and redeems us despite our sins. And the proof is in the culture this ritual produces. Think of Mozart’s great rendition of faith in the Eucharist: “Ave Verum Corpus” (Hail True Body). I don’t know if bishops will adopt Francis’ zeal to crush the Latin Mass. I don’t know how painful they
are willing to make our religious life. If they do, they will create — or reveal — more division in the church. Pope Francis proposes with his crackdown is a new cover-up. Opinion. New York Times
Reporters challenged 'natural causes' ruling in death of Capitol Police officer Sicknick: watchdog . . . Members of the media pressured officials when Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick's autopsy contravened the popular narrative that he essentially was beaten to death during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to records obtained by Judicial Watch. Journalists challenged the Washington, D.C. medical examiner's office regarding its
finding that Sicknick in fact died of natural causes. The watchdog organization acquired the records via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit. The records include emails from journalists asking about the autopsy report that was released some three months after Officer Sicknick died. Just the News
Virginia school board approves controversial transgender policy . . . A northern Virginia school board voted Wednesday evening to approve a new policy expanding the rights of transgender students. In what was seen as a victory for LGBTQ advocates, the Loudoun County School Board approved the policy by a 7-to-2 vote following hours of debate and after minor amendments were made. "LCPS’ number one priority is to foster the success of
all students and ensure they feel safe, secure, accepted, and ready to learn at school," Loudoun County Public Schools said in a statement. "The school division will continue to do its due diligence in creating that environment and remaining open and transparent with all LCPS partners, community members, and stakeholders." Fox News

Trudeau Dresses Up As Saudi Sheik So Biden Will Approve His Pipeline . . . Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (he/him, they/them) dusted off one of his old ethnic costumes today in hopes that President Joe Biden would approve his pipeline. "Hello, President Biden, much happy greetings from my Middle East country, good sir!" Trudeau said in a meeting with the president today. "I have many great pipeline for you
to approve today sir. And look! I have brought fresh hummus for you to much enjoy with your fine family good sir!"
Trudeau also gifted the president with some magic legumes and a mystical lamp that he said would grant wishes, though there was a $9.99 price sticker half ripped off the bottom. Biden said he enjoyed his meeting with the "nice ethnic man" and that he was "clean, smart, and articulate." "Nice fella! You know, over there in the Middle East, the women cover their hair. How are you supposed to give a good sniff if you can't even see a broad's hair? Very tough countries to live in over
there." While his pipeline was approved, Trudeau is sadly now canceled for wearing blackface. Not good! Babylon Bee
