Good morning
Welcome to today's top news.

Sanders Spends the Way to Socialism . . . A bipartisan group of 20 senators introduced their $1.1 trillion “infrastructure” package on Monday, adding heavy new spending on leftist agenda items, including essentially creating a first installment of the economically disastrous Green New Deal. The spending bill piles more burdensome regulations and costs onto the American taxpayer, serving to further limit individual freedom, innovation, and
economic upward mobility — all under the guise of repairing and updating the country’s aging infrastructure systems.
But this $1.1 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, 2,702 pages in length, is merely the first installment for Democrats. Joe Biden has already tied it to further spending. Senator Bernie Sanders also makes this case in a Wall Street Journal op-ed titled, “Why We Need the $3.5 Trillion Reconciliation Package.” Sanders, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, Sanders pushes socialism as the solution without actually referring to the term. American Medical Association, Descending Into Wokeness, Calls for Eliminating Sex on Birth Certificates . . . Another formerly serious institution in America has gone woke. The American Medical Association, a professional association and lobbying group for physicians and medical students, issued a report in June calling for eliminating biological sex on birth certificates. The policy change is being promoted on WebMD social media,
which is why it’s suddenly garnering more attention.
The American Medical Association’s formal statement on the matter is filled with woke jargon and pregnant with left-wing ideological views. “Designating sex on birth certificates as male or female, and making that information available on the public portion, perpetuates a view that sex designation is permanent and fails to recognize the medical spectrum of gender identity,” Dr. Sandra Adamson Fryhofer, chairman-elect of the AMA’s board, said. “This type of categorization system also risks
stifling an individual’s self-expression and self-identification and contributes to marginalization and minoritization.” Daily Signal
Am I the only one who thinks that I am in some sort of nightmare, having trouble waking up? What's going on in the country is just beyond surreal. This is no longer merely Orwellian. This is Orwell plus Kafka, mixed all together.
Biden call for half of cars to be EVs by 2030 needs massive government intervention . . . President Biden is calling for half of all cars and trucks sold by within nine years to be zero-emission vehicles, and the major automakers joined him on the South Lawn Thursday to declare how much they love it. So you’d think, we must be at like 20 or 30 percent now, right? No. According to the Wall Street Journal, we are currently a 3% electric
vehicles, and most of those are Teslas. Since Tesla isn’t unionized, Elon Musk was not even invited to the White House.
So how will we “achieve” this? Massive subsidies, price hikes on gas vehicles, etc. Basically, the substitution of government decisions for those of the market. And lots of extra costs that China and India no doubt won’t be making. According to the Wall Street Journal: What a spectacle. We’re referring to the political advertisement that auto makers staged with President Biden on Thursday endorsing the Administration’s stricter fuel-economy rules and climate agenda. Behold
Big Business colluding with Big Government to grab subsidies and raise consumer prices. White House Dossier
This is beginning to look like the Russian style of capitalism. Collusion between the government, business, and media is exactly what ensures totalitarian government control of its citizens and an indefinite hold on power by one party. This is how Putin has achieved his longevity as a modern Russian Czar as well. As someone who fled socialist USSR, this is a frightening development in America.
Biden Admin Seeks Crackdown on Airport Alcohol Sales . . . The Biden administration is urging airports to police the sale of alcohol to travelers, citing a rise in "unruly behavior" by passengers on planes. "The [Federal Aviation Administration] requests that airports work with their concessionaires to help avoid" unsafe behavior, agency chief Steve Dickson wrote in a letter Tuesday to airport managers. "Even though FAA regulations
specifically prohibit the consumption of alcohol aboard an aircraft that is not served by the airline, we have received reports that some airport concessionaires have offered alcohol ‘to go,' and passengers believe they can carry that alcohol onto their flights or they become inebriated during the boarding process." Washington Free Beacon
Biden must have consulted the former Soviet leader Mikey Gorbachev who instituted alcohol prohibition, we called "dry law," back in the USSR. It really worked out nicely for the Soviets, and for Gorbachev. :-)
BTW, while many Americans and Westerners love Gorbachev, the Russians hate him. The West things Gorbachev brought democracy to Russia, the Russians think he brought chaos and destruction. With the demise of the USSR, the Communists became capitalists overnight, capturing all the means of production. The ordinary Russians suffered all the same and even more than under socialism, with the collapse of the economy. Freedom to call a government official "an idiot" doesn't mean
anything when you don't have enough to eat and there's no security.
Dem Braintrust: Sexist Media Behind Animosity to Harris . . . Sexist reporters are responsible for Vice President Kamala Harris's unpopularity with voters, according to top Democratic strategists. A group of powerful Democrats huddled together in July, according to an Axios story published Thursday, and came away from the meeting with a new media strategy aimed at reversing Harris's abysmal approval numbers: Convince journalists that
sexism explains any criticism of her record. Veteran Democratic strategists, including former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Donna Brazile and Obama advisers Stephanie Cutter and Jennifer Palmieri, said the media's treatment of Harris can explain why so much of the public dislikes her. Washington

Ashli Babbitt family lawyer says officer killed her in 'ambush' without warning . . . Ashli Babbitt was the victim of an "ambush," says the Babbitt family attorney preparing a wrongful death lawsuit seeking more than $10 million in damages against the Capitol Police and the officer who fatally shot the woman during the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. The flash of violence was caught on video showing the officer off to the side holding a gun and
Babbitt making her way through broken glass-paneled doors. At the center of the debate is the question of what was shouted and heard in the moments leading up to Babbitt's death. Terry Roberts, a Maryland personal injury lawyer who specializes in police misconduct cases, disagrees with the assertions by the officer's lawyer that his client issued a verbal warning before discharging his firearm. “It’s not debatable,” Roberts told RealClearInvestigations. “There was no warning.” Washington Examiner
Lovely pair.

Austin calls for ‘responsible’ space operations . . .Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin earlier this month outlined key elements of “responsible behavior in space” in a memorandum to senior Pentagon and military leaders. “As more actors come to space, the domain is changing, with an increased risk of collisions, as well as of miscalculations or misunderstandings,” Mr. Austin said in the July 7 memo. “It is incumbent on the department to
continue space leadership through demonstrating and acknowledging responsible behavior in space.” The memo directed all Pentagon and military agencies to conduct space operations in line with “tenets of responsible behavior.” Washington Times
Gun safety groups to Biden: Do more to get your point man confirmed . . . The confirmation of David Chipman to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is increasingly in peril. And now gun violence survivors and activists are going public with their long-simmering private frustrations, saying President Joe Biden could have done more. In half a dozen interviews, those advocating for Chipman’s confirmation
complained that Biden and his top aides have not leaned enough on Democratic senators to get them to support the confirmation.
Once the citizens are disarmed by the government, they become the subjects of the state. This is why totalitarian regimes don't let their citizens to own firearms. It ensures the freedom for dictators to do whatever they will to their people.

First Israeli air strike in Lebanon in 15 years after rocket attack . . . Israeli jets struck “terrorist targets’ in the Marjayoun region of South Lebanon early Thursday, Aug. 5, in retaliation for a three-rocket salvo against the Galilee town of Kiryat Shemona a day earlier. This was the first time Israeli had deployed its air force for attacks in Lebanon since the 2006 Lebanon war. It was the IDF’s second response to the
rocket attack. First, wide-ranging IDF artillery fire pounded Lebanese border districts in four bursts of one hundred shells. Hizballah venues were not targeted by either the air or the artillery assaults. Military sources cited Palestinian groups as likely responsible for the rocket fire. DEBKAfile
Hungarian PM Defends ‘Traditional Values’ And ‘National Identity’ In Tucker Carlson Interview . . . Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán defended his government’s aim to create a society “based on traditional values [and] on national identity” during an interview with Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson aired Thursday night. Orbán came to power in 2010 after his national-conservative party Fidesz won a landslide
victory in the Hungarian parliamentary elections. Hungary attracted international attention after Orbán’s government opted not to accept hundreds of thousands of refugees from Muslim-majority countries as other European Union members had. “Many European countries decided to open a new chapter of their own history of the nation,” Orbán said. “They call it a new society, which is a post-Christian, post-national society. They believe firmly that if different communities, a huge
number of Muslim communities, and the original inhabitants — let’s say Christian communities — are mixed up, the outcome of this will be good.” Daily Caller
Orban's narrative will be very attractive to American religious conservatives. But we have to be careful, cozying up to dictators like Orban and Putin. On the surface, it would seem that they value the same good things as Republicans and our people of faith, traditional values and national identity, American culture in our case. But remember, while at the heart of American culture are freedom and individual rights given from God, the totalitarian regimes are all about
collectivism and the primacy of the state. They believe the government -- not God -- gives rights to its citizens, whom they view as subjects.
Let's make sure that conservatives don't become the modern useful idiots in a way that American leftist were whom the Soviets targeted back in the day, to subvert America.

Biden Launches Comprehensive Vaccination Effort in Schools . . . The Biden administration said Thursday it is launching an all-out effort to get students 12 and older vaccinated this fall via their school. To achieve this, the administration will promote vaccinations at school physicals, send pediatricians to back-to-school nights to vaccinate, and provide funding for school districts to set up pop-up vaccination
clinics. “These include helping get our young people vaccinated. We’re doubling down to get more students vaccinated as they return to school. We know vaccines are working and they’re the safest and most effective way to fight back COVID-19, to prevent outbreaks, and to ensure a safe school year,” said Education Secretary Miguel Cardona on Thursday. US Intel Gains Access To ‘Treasure Trove’ Of Hidden Data On Wuhan Lab Viruses . . . U.S. intelligence agencies have accessed a “treasure trove” of data from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) that could provide new information about the origins of COVID-19. The data includes entire virus genomes that scientists at WIV studied, sources familiar with the data collection told CNN. However, intelligence agencies are reportedly struggling
to process the data, due to the sheer quantity of it and the fact that it is in Mandarin. The agencies are reportedly using supercomputers at the Department of Energy to process the virus data, but do not have enough Mandarin-speaking biologists to aid the effort. Daily Caller
CNN has fired three employees for coming to the office unvaccinated against COVID-19 . . . All employees working in its offices or in the field had been required to be fully vaccinated. CNN President Jeff Zucker said in a memo to staff on Thursday that the cable news channel has “a zero-tolerance policy on this” and fired the three staffers after finding out that they had been coming to the office unvaccinated for this past week. “You
need to be vaccinated to come to the office,” Zucker said. “And you need to be vaccinated to work in the field, with other employees, regardless of whether you enter an office or not. Period.” Employees so far have not been required to provide evidence that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus. CNN had been relying on an “honor system.” Epoch Times
Sterilization comes next. Because babies, you know, spoil the environment, with all those diapers and other disgusting things.

CBO: Bipartisan infrastructure bill would increase deficits by $256 billion over 10 years . . . The Congressional Budget Office estimated Thursday that the bipartisan Senate infrastructure bill will add $256 billion to the deficit over the next decade, undercutting its backers' claims the spending had been offset. In FY2020, the deficit hit a record $3.1 trillion. So far in FY2021, the deficit is $2.2 trillion. The national debt is
climbing to $29 trillion for the first time in U.S. history. The CBO estimated that the legislation, formally titled The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, would generate $50 billion in revenue and increase the deficit. Just the News
Tucker Carlson provides Clinton Foundation update: 'Donors stopped giving' after Hillary lost in 2016 . . . Donations to the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation notably dropped off as the former first lady and secretary of state gradually left Washington prominence, culminating in her loss in the 2016 election, New York Post reporter Miranda Devine said Thursday, noting that many of the explicit endeavors of the organization have
yet to be ameliorated or solved. On "Tucker Carlson Tonight," host Tucker Carlson noted how the foundation was seen as an effective NGO aimed at humanitarian missions – but that donations suddenly dropped from $130 million between 2014 and 2016 to $22 million in 2017. Fox News
Business Groups Call on Biden to Restart Trade Talks With China . . . Nearly three dozen of the nation’s most influential business groups—representing retailers, chip makers, farmers and others—are calling on the Biden administration to restart negotiations with China and cut tariffs on imports, saying they are a drag on the U.S. economy. The tariffs on electronics, apparel and other Chinese goods, which are paid by U.S. importers, were
kept in place in part to ensure that China fulfills its obligations under its 2020 Phase One trade pact with the U.S. In a Thursday letter to U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the business groups contend that Beijing had met “important benchmarks and commitments” in the agreement, including opening markets to U.S. financial institutions and reducing some regulatory barriers to U.S. agricultural exports to China. Wall Street Journal
U.S. businesses must stop feeding the China monster, especially now after China unleashed the CCP Wuhan virus on the world. There are plenty of countries who would be happy to manufacture trinkets for Americans. Serious industries should move back to America, so we can return our blue-collar jobs to our fellow Americans. Not very capitalist of me to say that, but I am an American first, capitalist second. :-)
Beyond Meat sales jump on restaurant demand . . . Plant-based meat maker Beyond Meat said Thursday that its revenue jumped 32% in the second quarter as demand from restaurants returned. But the company’s shares dropped after it forecast lower-than-expected third-quarter sales. Beyond Meat said uncertainty about the coronavirus is among the things weighing on its sales projections. Beyond Meat’s U.S. food-service sales more than
tripled in the April-June period as more dining rooms reopened and people ate out. TGI Fridays, Dunkin’ and Del Taco are among the chains that carry Beyond Meat products. Fox Business
I've tried their "fake" meatballs, because I am not able to eat real meat. They are excellent. But Beyond Meat and similar meatless products are just as processed as some of their meaty counterparts. I found them are super difficult to digest.

Fox News Names New White House Correspondent . . . Fox News will have a new White House correspondent covering President Joe Biden’s administration starting this week. Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich will transition to a new role as a White House correspondent. Previously, Heinrich worked at Fox News as a congressional correspondent. She first joined Fox News in 2018 and said that covering a presidential administration at the White House has
been “a lifelong dream” of hers. Daily Caller
Beautiful young lady. Very Fox Newsy-looking. Hopefully, intelligent too.
Veterinarians face high demand to treat pets amid adoption boom, staff shortages . . . Veterinarians across the U.S. are dealing with more pets without enough medically trained staff to help care for them. Demand for their services has heightened as a result of the pet adoption boom during pandemic lockdowns and staff shortages in some areas. Baby boomers are retiring, others are leaving the profession because of burnout, and veterinary
schools are falling short of graduates to fill positions. To meet demand, veterinary clinics have stopped accepting new patients, tried to hire more staff and extended service hours. Pet owners have to wait longer to secure appointments. Washington Times
Rhode Island teachers unions sue mom to stop release of CRT lessons . . . National Education Association chapters claim they are only trying to protect their members from harassment by "national conservative groups." The Rhode Island mother who turned to public records law to learn what the school district was teaching her daughter is now a defendant in a lawsuit by the state and local teachers union. The Rhode Island and South
Kingstown chapters of the National Education Association sued Nicole Solas and the school district this week to stop the latter from releasing records sought by Solas, including curriculum and policies related to critical race theory, antiracism, gender theory and children's sexuality. Just the

Carli Lloyd stands, US women's soccer teammates kneel before bronze medal match . . . U.S. women’s soccer star Carli Lloyd stunned fans on Thursday as it appeared she was the only American player standing before the team’s match against Australia at the Tokyo Olympics. It appeared the rest of her teammates decided to kneel as a protest against racism and discrimination before the bronze-medal match against Australia. Lloyd was
standing next to the referee of the match while the Australian soccer team stood in unity. The U.S. women’s soccer team drew criticism at the start of the Olympics when players knelt before the official match against Sweden. In that one, the U.S. would lose 3-0. It was a different tune on Thursday. Megan Rapinoe scored two goals and Lloyd added to her own U.S. Olympic record with two goals of her own. Rapinoe and Lloyd were all the U.S. needed in the 4-3 win. Fox News
We need more ladies like Carli on U.S. Olympics team. Rapinoe, for all her athletic talents, is an anti-American leftist. She and her team mates who knelt should go live, at least for a year, in Russia, China, or even in Europe, to see what racism looks like.

Liberals Praise DeBlasio For Barring 65% Of Black NYC Residents From Society . . . Compassionate progressives across the country are praising New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio for his "bold, courageous" decision to bring segregation to New York. "Studies show that 65% of black New York residents are unvaccinated, so this will affect them disproportionately," said DeBlasio in a statement. "We just want everyone to be
healthy, and anyone who refuses to get the vaccine should excluded from participating in society. It's the compassionate—and scientific—thing to do!"
The Mayor has also said he will be supporting increased police funding and presence in black communities to enforce vaccine segregation, which will definitely not have any side effects like increased deadly police encounters and brutality. This is all about safety and science because we're the government and we care," said DeBlasio. Experts say the new ordinance will actually have little effect since no one lives in New York anymore except Bill DeBlasio and Brian Stelter. Everyone else
has moved to Florida. Babylon Bee Satire.
