Equality Act Slams the Door on Religious Freedom . . . The Supreme Court’s recent decision, Fulton v. Philadelphia, is justifiably getting mixed reviews. Catholic Social Services sued the city of Philadelphia, through the Philadelphia Archdiocese, for canceling its 50-year contract with the Catholic social services agency because it refuses to certify same-sex couples as foster families for the purpose of foster care. The Supreme
Court ruled in favor of Catholic Social Services, finding that Philadelphia violated its First Amendment protections. The criticism is that the decision was narrow and technical, skirting the core question of how we understand religious liberty today, when it is under assault almost everywhere. According to existing precedent, First Amendment protections do not apply against measures that are “generally applicable” and not targeted specifically to religion. When some general measure
incidentally impacts a particular religion or religious practice, religious protection can be impinged. It is a tragedy that something so fundamental as religious freedom is now buried in the weeds of legal hair-splitting. The Equality Act is not about equality. It is about forcing the LGBTQ agenda on all Americans. Daily

New York adds third gender option to birth certificates, licenses . . . New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Thursday signed a law that will add a third gender option to birth certificates and licenses in the state. The Gender Recognition Act allows nonbinary individuals to select “X” for their gender on driver’s licenses and there will be an option on birth certificates to select “parent” instead of mother or father, a press release by the
governor states. The Hill
Biden says US most divided it’s been since Civil War . . . President Biden spoke at what was supposedly a get-your-vaccination event in Raleigh, North Carolina: The third reason I was running [for president] was to unify the country. Well, folks, it’s never been as divided as it is today, never been as divided as it is today since the Civil War. And folks, it’s such a waste of talent. It’s such a waste of time. And the rest of the
world is looking at us. The rest of the world is wondering, can we really lead the world again? The last four years have been devastating to our leadership around the world. White House Dossier
Hmm. I wonder why that is.
Biden, Senators Agree to Roughly $1 Trillion Infrastructure Plan . . . President Biden and a group of 10 centrist senators agreed to a roughly $1 trillion infrastructure plan Thursday, securing a long-sought bipartisan deal that lawmakers and the White House will now attempt to shepherd through Congress alongside a broader package sought by Democrats. Mr. Biden and Democratic leaders said that advancing the deal on
transportation, water and broadband infrastructure will hinge on the passage of more elements of Mr. Biden’s $4 trillion economic agenda. The two-track process sets up weeks of delicate negotiations to gather support for both the bipartisan plan and a separate Democratic proposal, a challenging task in the 50-50 Senate and the narrowly Democratic-controlled House. Wall Street Journal
Biden says future patriots face lost cause against tyranny; U.S. has ‘F-15s,’ ‘nuclear weapons’ . . . President Biden says the prospect of patriots taking on a future tyrannical government in the U.S. would be grim unless they procured “F-15s and nuclear weapons.” The Democrat roiled viewers on Tuesday while making the comments in conjunction with his calls for more stringent gun control. “Those who say the blood of patriots, you
know, and all the stuff about how we’re gonna have to move against the government — well, the tree of liberty has not been watered with the blood of patriots,” Mr. Biden said. “What’s happened is that there have never been — if you want to, think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.” Second Amendment supporters were encouraged to think of the right to bear arms as a right to hunt — with limits. PATEL: Biden’s Failure To Lead On Crime Is Going To Slam Dems At The Polls . . . In the ongoing battle between Republicans and Democrats over who can scare away regular Americans more, the Democrats are going all in with their policies and rhetoric on violent crime. Left-wing Democrats have scared the hell out of regular Americans with their “defund the police” rhetoric and even more with actual cuts to funding for many big-city police
departments and their refusal to prosecute many crimes. After a multi-decade decline, crime rates are way up. After months of largely ignoring the problem, Biden’s response pins the entire violent crime rise on access to guns. His solutions focus almost exclusively on gun control. Pretending gun access explains the rising crime rate is preposterous on its face. This is not going to end well for Democrats. Daily Caller
Biden: Harris has “done a great job so far” on the border crisis . . . What, exactly, has changed at the border? Nothing. Usually one could say that the Biden White House “doing nothing” would be a great job, since they’re not wrecking anything. But in this case, the crisis Biden has created continues unabated. Joe Biden picks second DOJ nominee with Hunter Biden connection . . . President Joe Biden has, for a second time, selected a nominee with ties to his son Hunter Biden for a top post at the Justice Department, picking a former longtime partner at the law firm where his son worked for years and that was involved in helping the younger Biden in his business dealings with Burisma.
Biden announced on Friday that he had nominated Hampton Dellinger, a Yale Law School graduate and former deputy attorney general in North Carolina, to be assistant attorney general for DOJ’s Office of Legal Policy. Dellinger’s LinkedIn indicates he founded Hampton Dellinger PLLC in November after working as a partner at Boies, Schiller, and Flexner from May 2013 through last year. Hunter Biden was a counsel at the same firm, starting there in 2010 and reportedly leaving in 2017. In 2014,
the president’s son landed the Ukrainian energy giant as a client for the firm and took a lucrative position on its board. Washington Examiner
On election overhaul, like on immigration, Harris fails to show up . . . The liberal Los Angeles Times is panning Vice President Harris for her failure to have much effect on the failed effort to pass a Senate bill to overhaul U.S. elections. It seems the border is not the only place Harris has failed to show up. She’s also not finding her way across town to the Senate. A piece published Wednesday by staff writer Noah Bierman
headlined, “Essential Politics: Failure of elections bill shows limits of Kamala Harris’ influence,” shows what a difference five months can make. White House Dossier
Another sign that Joe is loosing it.
Trump Announces 2nd Rally Since Departing White House . . . Former President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will be holding a “Save America” rally in Sarasota, Florida, over the July 4th weekend. The “Save America” rally, also billed as a “45 Fest,” will be held on July 3 at the Sarasota Fairgrounds, and is co-sponsored by the Republican Party of Florida, according to a statement from his office. It will be the former
president’s second rally since leaving the White House in January and is in “further support of the MAGA agenda and accomplishments of his administration,” the statement says. Epoch Times
Pence said he's 'proud' Congress certified Biden's win on January 6 . . . Former Vice President Mike Pence reiterated at a speech at the Reagan Library on Thursday he did not have the constitutional authority to stop the count of the electoral votes on Jan. 6. “Now there are those in our party who believe that in my position as presiding officer over the joint session that I possess the authority to reject or return electoral votes
certified by the states,” Pence said. "The Constitution provides the vice president with no such authority before the joint session of Congress." The Hill
Oy Vey.

Force-fed 'woke' agenda in military sparks dissent among rank and file . . . On Capitol Hill, lawmakers grilled the nation's two top military leaders about imposing critical race theory on the force. As conflict over Pentagon wokeness intensifies between uniformed and civilian adversaries, dissenters within the military have taken to social media aiming to win hearts and minds for the anti-woke faction. "We're worried about
teaching racism and creating racists within the military rather than making lethal soldiers," wrote one soldier on social media. "Way to go Woke." "Bruh, they really pushing this shi- from the top brass now," wrote another. Lawmakers wanted to know if critical race theory -- which is part of the curriculum at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point -- is being pushed on the force in the guise of "anti-extremism."Florida Republican Rep. Michael Waltz, a former Green Beret,
said "This type of teaching, that is rooted in Marxism, that classifies people along class lines, an entire race of people as oppressor and oppressed," Waltz said. "I cannot think of anything more divisive and more destructive to unit morale." Just the News
Ingraham Slams Chairman of the Join Chiefs' support for ‘far-left Marxist ideology’ . . . Laura Ingraham on Wednesday blasted General Mark Milley for propagating a “far-left Marxist racist ideology” in the U.S. military over his support of Critical Race Theory. Milley testified before the House Armed Services Committee and was questioned concerning diversity training and racism within the ranks of the military. He stated that he found
recent attacks on the military over those issues “offensive.” Milley voiced his support for Critical Race Theory and he blamed the Jan. 6 riot on “white rage.” “I do think it’s important for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read,” stated Milley seemingly insinuating that troops were closed-minded and uneducated. This is no longer amusing.
Senior Nato officer warns of China’s ‘shocking’ military advances . . . Nato’s most senior military officer has highlighted the “shocking” speed of China’s military modernisation and warned of its growing diplomatic presence overseas, as the alliance prepares to take a more assertive stance towards Beijing. The comments from air chief marshal Sir Stuart Peach highlight the broad array of security challenges posed by China as members of
the alliance struggle to progress beyond a diagnosis of the threat to an agreed plan of action. “It is quite shocking how quickly China has built ships, how much China has modernized its air force, how much it has invested in cyber and other forms of information management, not least facial recognition,” said Peach — who is stepping down on Friday after three years as head of Nato’s military committee — in an interview with the Financial Times before his departure. Biden’s slims down Navy budget as China threat looms . . .
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are sounding an alarm on the Navy‘s “divest to invest” strategy, which they say is leaving the service vulnerable to a rising China. Faced with tough budgetary decisions and with an eye on threats of the future, the Navy has committed to decommissioning 15 ships and reduced its procurement by close to 9% to redirect funds toward research and development for warfare capabilities. The plan is to divest in current capabilities and invest in future war
technology. Washington Times

Biden Admin Walks Back US Recognition of Golan Heights as Israeli Territory . . . The Biden administration is walking back the United States' historic recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the contested Golan Heights region along Israel's northern border, a significant blow to the Jewish state and one of the Trump administration's signature foreign policy decisions. The Trump administration declared the
territory—seized by Israel from Syria in 1967 and later annexed by the country—to be wholly part of the Jewish state in 2019. Then-secretary of state Mike Pompeo took a trip to the area in 2020 and reaffirmed that America formally abandoned a decades-long policy of considering the area occupied. Washington Free Beacon
Can someone 'splain' to me why most Jews vote democratic? Please.
Quadcopter drone strike near Karaj – new chapter in covert campaign versus nuclear Iran . . . The “sabotage” attack on one of its facilities which Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency claimed to have thwarted broke new ground in Israel’s alleged covert campaign against a nuclear-armed Iran with US support. The target was a facility under UN and US sanctions near Karaj City west of Tehran that, according to some intelligence sources, manufactured
centrifuges for refining uranium at the Fordow and Natanz enrichment centers. The novelty in this case was the nature of the weapon and how it was used. Iranian media cited “a small quadcopter drone” as the weapon, which was launched from inside the country. Clearly, an unknown entity released the small device from a point inside Iran after first loading it with an explosive charge or small rocket. It is worth recalling former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen’s disclosure in an interview on June 10
that the team which purloined the Iranian nuclear archive from its hiding place in Tehran in April 2018 was comprised of a team of non-Israeli operatives. It is no secret that Israel and American spy agencies both have ties with cells of the Mujahedin-e-Khalk resistance movement. DEBKAfile
Disaster Looms in Afghanistan . . . President Biden meets his Afghan counterpart Friday, and the White House says it is committed to providing Afghanistan “diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian assistance.” That’s cold comfort as emboldened Taliban militants advance across the country. Mr. Biden said in April that U.S. troops would leave Afghanistan by Sept. 11, and coalition forces have been departing faster than expected. Since May the
Taliban have taken more than 50 of the country’s roughly 400 districts, a United Nations official said this week. Fighting continues in many districts, which are comparable to American counties. Some 8.5 million Afghans already live under Taliban control, the Long War Journal estimates, with more than 13 million in contested zones. Biden and Trump will own the bloody result of America’s withdrawal. Wall Street Journal
Yes, but are the WSJ Editorial Board Members prepared to send their kids and loved ones to 'restore peace' in Afghanistan? And for how long? Isn't it mostly the blue collar folks' and their young sons daughters who are willing to go to these 'sh-hole countries, as DJT once said (pardon my French), to fight and even die for our freedom. Meanwhile, the elites and their offspring sit behind their desks, writing stories about that.

Chelsea Clinton Sits on Board of Company Accused of Defrauding Investors . . . Chelsea Clinton is a board director at a health insurance company that has been accused of defrauding investors. Clover Health has been slapped with numerous investor lawsuits that claim the company and its leadership failed to disclose that it was under investigation by the Department of Justice for allegedly offering illegal kickbacks to health care providers
in exchange for patient referrals. Several of the lawsuits were consolidated in April into a class action case, which accused Clover Health and its CEO Vivek Garipalli of "employ[ing] devices, schemes, and artifices to defraud" investors. Washington Free Beacon
I am shocked.
FedEx posts profit as online shopping boom continues . . . FedEx reported a nearly $2 billion profit in its most recent quarter, after reporting a loss the year before, helped by a surge in online shopping and the growth of its business-to-business shipping services. Package delivery companies like FedEx have been in high demand during the pandemic, as more people stayed home and shopped online. At the same time, FedEx has been delivering
COVID-19 vaccines. The Memphis, Tennessee-based company reported net income of $1.87 billion for the three months ending May 31, compared with a $334 million loss in the same period the year before. Fox Business

A 9-year-old’s warning: Making kids think in racial terms does enormous harm . . . In a video circulating this week, a 9-year-old Minnesota girl Novalee lectures school-board members about how she normally doesn’t think about “the color of skin,” but the Black Lives Matter posters they put up in her school “make me think of it.” The brave youngster also accuses the board of violating its own rules against politics in the schools by
posting the signs, which send “a political message about getting rid of police officers, rioting, burning buildings down.” “I do not judge people by the color of their skin” but “by the way they treat me,” explains Novalee. “I have Asian, Mexican, white, Chinese, black friends, and . . . I like them because some of them make me laugh, some are sweet and kind, sporty or share the love of God. They are just my friends.” New York Post
Florida Building collapse: Death toll rises to four . . . A massive rescue effort is underway Friday morning in Surfside, Florida, in response to the partial building collapse that killed at least four people and resulted in nearly 100 people being unaccounted for. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Friday that three bodies were pulled from the rubble overnight, bringing the total
death toll to four. "The building is literally pancaked," Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett said in an interview. Fox News
In Georgia’s largest county, 'an army of temps' oversaw an election rife with security issues . . . "They were doing things eagerly but incorrectly." That was a judgment rendered in a Georgia election monitor's report last year detailing what the investigator said were a series of problems brought on by improperly trained temporary staffers handling the absentee ballot scanning operation in Fulton County. Fulton, Georgia's largest county,
was a key to Joe Biden's 2020 win in the state and, ultimately, the nation. The county has long been suspected as a locus of election mismanagement and incompetence. Last year's election in Fulton — which, as with the rest of the United States, included mass absentee balloting on an unprecedented scale — has continued to draw scrutiny for apparent failures of election security and protocol.
