Democrats Are Killing the American Dream . . . President Biden’s American Families Act makes one political reality officially clear: The Democratic Party has given up on the American dream. The Biden proposals—coming as they do with the Democratic progressives’ rise to power—present the American people with a once-in-a-lifetime decision about what kind of country they want to live in for the next half-century. The Biden plan is
about public policies that will redesign American society. Joe Biden’s American Families Plan replaces individual striving with middle class entitlements. Should the habit of individual striving for upward mobility give way to a presumably more important goal of nationalized paternalism?
Generations of similar welfare compensation eroded the American dream for many black Americans by disincentivizing upward mobility. Hundreds of thousand still live in public-housing units built for them in the mid-1960s. The Biden Democrats not only don’t apologize for this malgovernance, they want to spread it to the nonpoor. That turns out to be the true big steal in the 2020 election: Joe Biden never asked voters if they wanted to replace the American dream. He’s doing it anyway.

Anti-Asian Institutions Hold Sway in Biden White House . . . President Joe Biden has stocked his administration with individuals tied to prominent anti-Asian institutions. According to an exclusive Politico analysis, more than 40 percent of senior and mid-level staffers in the Biden White House have degrees from Ivy League universities, institutions plagued by accusations of anti-Asian discrimination.Nearly 20 percent of White House
staffers have degrees from Harvard. About 15 percent of Biden aides have degrees from Yale, which could explain the administration's decision to drop the Trump-era Justice Department's civil rights lawsuit against the university for illegally discriminating against Asian Americans. A coalition of Asian-American groups has since urged the Biden administration to reinstate the lawsuit. In spite of the troubling rise in violent attacks against Asian Americans, the Democratic Party
has rejected Republican-led efforts to penalize anti-Asian discrimination. Washington Free Beacon
Psaki admits the White House tries to stop Biden from taking questions . . . White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted in an interview with her former Obama White House colleague David Axelrod on “The Axe Files” podcast that the White House does not like it when President Biden spontaneously takes questions. “That is not something we recommend.” She says, “In fact, a lot of times we say, ‘Don’t take questions,’ you know, but he’s
going to do what he wants to do because he’s the president.” White House Dossier
Speaking Truth to Power: Magazine Reveals How Journos Are ‘Rooting’ for WH Press Secretary Jen Psaki . . . Professional journalists have, at least in theory, devoted their lives to the noble art of speaking truth to power, of saving democracy from certain death in darkness. In practice, however, this devotion tends to waver depending on which political party controls the White House.
When Democrats are in charge, for example, our noble journalists can't help but be consumed by "The Awkward Feeling of Rooting for the White House Press Secretary." So reads the headline of a Jen Psaki profile published in Washingtonian magazine. Members of the White House press corps, writes Jessica M. Goldstein, are "quite taken with how polite she is." Perhaps the journos themselves are equally wooed by Psaki's "competence." Washington Free Beacon
Competence? Sarah Huckabee-Sanders, Kayleigh McEnaney - Yes. Psaki - not so much.
GOP Pollster: 'I would bet on' Trump being 2024 GOP nominee . . . Veteran GOP pollster Frank Luntz says that former President Trump "could never win" the 2024 general election, but that he "would bet on" Trump to be the GOP nominee. "If Donald Trump runs for president as a Republican, he's the odds-on favorite to win the nomination," Luntz said during an appearance on The New York Times podcast “Sway” released Thursday. "He could never
win a general election, but I can't imagine losing a Republican primary. ... I would bet on him to be the nominee and I would bet on him losing to whatever Democratic nominee there was." The Hill
Liz Cheney ‘Secretly Orchestrated’ Former Defense Secretaries To Write Op-Ed Slamming Trump . . . Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney “secretly orchestrated” an op-ed in the Washington Post from all living former secretaries of defense slamming former President Trump’s handling of the military in January. Eric Edelman, a friend of Cheney’s, reportedly told the New Yorker that Cheney had personally met with all 10 living former defense
secretaries, including Trump’s first defense secretary, Jim Mattis, urging them to participate in the op-ed. “She was the one who generated it, because she was so worried about what Trump might do,” Edelman told the magazine. “It speaks to the degree that she was concerned about the threat to our democracy that Trump represented.” Daily Caller

Alleged second Steele dossier on Trump emerges in British media as John Durham closes in . . . Word of a second anti-Trump dossier by British ex-spy Christopher Steele emerged this week in British media following significant developments in the so-called "Russiagate" controversy. A report by the Telegraph, citing sources who were not named or described, said Steele kept feeding raw intelligence about former President Donald Trump to
the FBI during the Trump administration, longer than was previously asserted, through his company, Orbis Business Intelligence. This adds a new wrinkle to what the public has been told about Steele, a former MI6 agent whose first dossier on Trump has been largely discredited, weeks after it was reported that special counsel John Durham used a subpoena to obtain documents a Washington, D.C., think tank related to its employment of a Russian researcher who served as a main source for
Steele in his research about Trump. Washington Examiner
Trump vindicated as FEC closes probe of campaign . . . The Federal Elections Commission voted Thursday to close a probe of former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, saying it had not found any proof of any violations. On a 4-1 vote, the panel ended the investigation into hush money paid by former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels. The panel said it had failed to find that Mr. Trump or his campaign “knowingly
and willfully” violated campaign-finance law when Mr. Cohen paid $130,000 in October 2016 to the adult actress whose real name is Stephanie Clifford and who says she had had an affair with the real-estate tycoon earlier that decade. Washington Times
Elise Stefanik Embraces GOP’s Pro-Trump Wing in Leadership Campaign . . . Rep. Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) embraced former President Donald Trump and his supporters as critical to Republicans’ success at the ballot box, seeking to quiet critics who raised concerns about her voting record as she seeks a top position in party leadership. Ms. Stefanik’s stance on Mr. Trump contrasts sharply with that of Rep. Liz Cheney (R., Wyo.), the
embattled chairman of the House Republican conference whom she is hoping to succeed. This week, House GOP leaders aired their frustration with Ms. Cheney, who has repeatedly urged the party to distance itself from the former president. In comments to Steve Bannon’s “War Room” broadcast on Thursday, Ms. Stefanik emphasized party unity and said Mr. Trump’s populist coalition of voters was key to winning back control of the House next year. “This is also about being one team,” she
said, adding that she was “proud to stand up for President Trump.” Wall Street Journal

China's military modernization continues unabated . . . Amidst growing territorial disputes with its neighbors and military tensions with the United States, China has projected defense expenditure growth of 6.8% this year. This allocation is the sharpest increase since 2019 and the third yearly increase during the last decade. President Xi Jinping has already vowed to make the People’s Liberation Army the strongest military globally. For
more than a decade, China’s military spending has surpassed its annual GDP growth, reflecting the priority it attaches to military modernization. This sustained increase in military capabilities has shifted the balance in favor of China when it comes to many territorial contestations. This has emboldened Beijing to adopt a hardened military posture towards its neighbors, which has escalated tensions and increased the risk of a regional conflict with wider consequences. Washington Times
Biden has no plan to help Afghan translators who will be killed by the Taliban . . . President Biden’s decision to leave Afghanistan completely puts thousands of people who helped us in various ways in peril after the inevitable takeover by the Taliban. If he’s going to abandon them, he at least needs to find a way to protect them, including by bringing them here. Thousands of people are storming across the border illegally. We at
least need to assist those who, instead of breaking the law, put their lives on the line for America. According to Fox News, "Nearly 17,000 Afghan interpreters who risked their lives working for the U.S. military are trying to leave the war-torn country ahead of President Biden’s Sept. 11 deadline to withdraw remaining U.S. forces from Afghanistan. But some may get left behind." Fox News
US AFRICOM Commander:China to set up a big navy port on the west coast of Africa . . . US Africa Combattant Command leader Gen. Stephen Townsend said that China is seeking to set up a navy port along the west coast of Africa. "They're looking for a place where they can rearm and repair warships. That becomes militarily useful in conflict," Townsend said during an interview with AP. "The Chinese are outmaneuvering the
U.S. in select countries in Africa," he said. Just the News
Homicide rates skyrocket . . . With a predictability that history proved in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland after rioting, the defund police movement is harvesting a crop of death and injury. Murder rates are rising in cities across American as police depart, retire or relax enforcement in the face of resentment and the fear of being charged with crimes during chaotic run-ins with would-be offenders. In 2021, the crisis is
often worsened by politicians and national journalists who appear to be taking sides with those fomenting disorder in the streets. Washington Examiner

Angela Merkel rejects US move to waive patents on vaccines . . . Angela Merkel has expressed opposition to the Biden administration’s proposal to suspend intellectual property rights for Covid-19 vaccines, saying it would have “serious implications” for vaccine production worldwide. The German chancellor said the limiting factors in vaccine supply were “production capacities and the high-quality standards, not the
patents”. “The protection of intellectual property is a source of innovation and it must remain so in the future,” she added. Financial Times
Unlike Joe Biden who takes capitalism's inherent prosperity for granted, Merkel - raised in the socialist GDR - understands well the danger of the government's confiscating and redistributing the fruits of one's labor and the importance of safeguarding intellectual property.
WATCH: When Trump Launched Operation Warp Speed, Media Experts Slammed His 'Reckless' Optimism . . . It's been almost a year since former president Donald Trump announced the launch of Operation Warp Speed. Objectively speaking, the vaccine initiative has been a resounding success. More than 147 million Americans, almost half the population, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Roughly a third of the country, about 106
million, is fully vaccinated. Now that a Democrat is president, scientific "experts" and uncredentialed media pundits alike have been parroting the party line—"See, vaccines work!"—without mentioning, much less crediting, Operation Warp Speed as a key factor in getting so many Americans vaccinated so quickly. Chinese Manufacturers Sidestep Trade Barriers by Buying Factories Overseas . . . Over the past decade, China has provided billions of dollars of subsidies to state-owned companies to acquire Western manufacturing rivals and to build factories beyond its own borders. Now, these overseas factories are roiling global markets with low-price goods in sectors ranging from automotive tires and rail equipment to fiberglass and
steel. What makes China different is the outsize role state-controlled companies play in its economy, and its willingness to support their expansion abroad. Western officials and executives say financial support from the Chinese government allows Chinese-owned manufacturers overseas to operate on razor-thin margins or at a loss, while they grab market share or serve the strategic objectives of the government. Wall Street Journal
These "strategic objectives" of the Chinese government present direct security threat to the United States.
Colombia's protests are threat, test for US . . . Colombia’s relationship with the United States is hitting its lowest point in decades as the country’s government faces criticism over its militarized response to massive street protests. The wave of protests risks destabilizing one of Latin America's most functional democracies and the United States's closest ally in the region. While international organizations like the United
Nations and the European Union have accused Colombian forces of police brutality in attempting to quell the protests, the Biden administration is taking a more measured approach. The Hill

Biden plan would limit longstanding tax break used by farmers . . . President Biden has said his tax proposals would make big business and wealthy investors pay their fair share. His package would also likely deliver a blow to American farm owners by limiting a longstanding tax break. The provision allows landowners to defer paying capital-gains tax when they sell investment property and put the proceeds toward the
purchase of other real estate. Farmers for generations have used the tax break to cheaply and quickly relocate farm operations to lands with better soil, diversify the crops they grow and consolidate land holdings. Some have used it when exiting the farming business at retirement. Farm owners in 2012 held 915 million acres, about 40% of the land in the continental U.S. Fox Business

Three Things to Know About 2nd Amendment’s Return to Supreme Court . . . Last week, the Supreme Court agreed to hear New York State Rifle & Pistol v. Corlett, a case that could have broad implications for the future of strict gun control. Here are three important things to know about the high court’s latest Second Amendment case. 1. This case is about the right to carry firearms in public. 2.
‘Good cause’ and ‘may issue’ requirements have racist roots. 3. Public carry will not turn us into the ‘Wild West.’ Between 1990 and 2000, 16 states changed their concealed carry laws from either “no issue” or “may issue” to “shall issue” permitting. During that time, national rates for violent crime, homicide by gun, and other gun crime plummeted. Since 2000, the trend toward more permissible public carry laws not only continued, but public interest in obtaining permits
skyrocketed. Over 19 million American adults now possess a concealed carry permit, up from roughly 3 million adults in 2000. Daily Signal
BLM Founder Says Her Book Is Like Mao’s Red Book . . . Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors compared her book to Chinese Communist Party leader Mao Zedong’s “Little Red Book” in a speech unearthed by The National Pulse. Cullors, who infamously described herself as a “trained Marxist,” made the comments in 2010 at a workshop “Socialism for the 21st Century.”
During her speech, BLM co-founder recounts how a young person insisted her book was “like Mao’s Red Book,” a comparison which Cullors embraces. “I think I have a really important role in speaking to youth. Maybe it’s because I came in the movement at 17-and-a-half, so I have just a knack for knowing how to organize young people into this organization,” Cullors adds. Originally published at the advent of China’s Cultural Revolution, the “Little Red Book” contains hundreds of quotes
from then-Chairman Mao. Beyond representing the archetype of communist propaganda, the work was widely used by young revolutionaries to justify “purges” of anyone short of completely devoted to the Chinese Communist Party. National Pulse
Those colorful BLM yard signs, with hearts drawn on them, are a disgrace to our neighborhoods. I always wonder if people displaying these signs know that Marxists have a special name for those whom they dupe into advancing their leftist revolutionary agenda -- "useful idiots."
BLM Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors Has Funneled Business To Company Run By Father Of Her Only Child . . . Patrisse Cullors, the co-founder and executive director of Black Lives Matter’s national arm, has funneled business to a company led by a man she identified as the father of her only child, a Daily Caller News Foundation review of business records, interviews and social media posts found. The company, Trap Heals, was formed just days before
partnering with BLM Global Network Foundation and later became the charity’s “lead developer of the art & cultural efforts.” Two other activist groups Cullors led paid Trap Heals a collective $238,000 to produce an election night livestream and for consulting services. In numerous public mentions of their work, Cullors and Turner did not disclose that they had a child together. Daily Caller
School Board President Running ‘All-Ages’ Sex Shop Refused To Address Teacher Reading Trans Book To First Graders . . . A parent complained about a first-grade teacher reading books promoting pro-LGBT views to her students, and the teacher and the school district board reportedly refused to address her concerns, according to Young America’s Foundation (YAF). The school district board’s president runs an “all-ages” sex shop and
describes herself as its “Head Dildo” on her Instagram profile, according to YAF.
YAF first reported the story after they received an anonymous tip through their Campus Bias Tip Line. According to screenshots of emails YAF provided to the Daily Caller, a student’s parent had written to Jennifer Miller, a 1st grade teacher in Bellingham School District, Washington State, complaining that the teacher was reading books promoting “gender dysphoria” in class without the knowledge of the students’ parents. Daily Caller
Is that what's called pedophilia? Or what would be the right term for such an activity - on the school grounds, of all places?
Why Big Tech Companies Continue to Lose Public’s Trust . . . The Big Tech companies consistently hide behind their algorithms when called to account for inconsistent content moderation and account suspension. Such was the case when the Senate Judiciary subcommittee held a hearing, on April 27, titled “Algorithms and Amplification: How Social Media Platforms’ Design Choices Shape Our Discourse and Our Minds.” Facebook,
Twitter, and YouTube have been accused of intentionally designing their algorithms to promote and amplify certain content, while hiding or even suspending other content for no specified reason. These Big Tech companies didn’t build confidence among users—or members of the subcommittee—that they are using sound, fair, or consistent principles in designing or using those algorithms. Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., said that as long as the Big Tech companies profit from using people to unknowingly
influence one another, “we are each going to be steered into a different reality and then pitted against each other,” he said. Daily Signal
