What Republicans don't understand about how Biden really wins elections . . . By Jason Chaffetz. Biden used an executive order to weaponize election efforts by the federal governmentIn the aftermath of another disappointing election night for Republicans, questions need to be asked about supposedly non-partisan get-out-the-vote (GOTV) operations Democrats are using to ensure their low-propensity voters – and only their low-propensity voters – get to the polls.

On March 7, 2021, Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting, President Biden instructed every federal agency to submit a plan to leverage their agency’s personnel and assets to help turn out the vote. For example, agencies might use internal data to identify aid recipients who are not registered to vote, then use agency personnel to get them registered and ensure their ballot is cast and counted.  

Anyone who criticizes GOTV efforts gets accused of wanting to suppress voting. But it’s not voting to which we should object – it’s the exclusive collection of ballots from Democratic voting blocks. Fox News

Biden Is Losing Black Voters. Here’s Why It Matters . . . Heading into 2024, Democrats are sounding alarms about losing voters like Smith. Black voter turnout fell during the 2022 midterm elections compared with the previous midterms, and polling and interviews with voters show growing dissatisfaction over the economy and Biden’s leadership. Any decline with these voters could be fatal for the re-election of Biden, whose path to victory depends on building a diverse coalition of voters in six or so closely fought battleground states.

Wage gains have cooled more dramatically for Black workers than other Americans. Median weekly earnings for Black workers employed full time rose 4.2% in the third quarter from a year earlier, versus a 10.3% gain the prior year. Tim Scott suspends his presidential campaign . . . Sen. Tim Scott announced on Sunday that he is suspending his presidential campaign. The South Carolina Republican senator made the announcement in a televised interview on Fox News with his longtime friend Trey Gowdy. The news came as a shock to his own staff. Multiple campaign staff members confirmed to POLITICO that they had no prior knowledge of Scott’s decision before he did so on live television. Politico

Biden Admin’s Own Staffers Turn On President, Accuse Him Of ‘Spreading Misinformation’ . . . A coalition of State Department staffers are accusing President Joe Biden of “spreading misinformation” as he responds to the Israel-Hamas war, according to an internal memo obtained by Axios. Without pointing to a specific moment, the memo reportedly cites Biden’s Oct. 10 speech, which addressed Hamas’ gruesome terrorist attack on Israel, as an example of the “misinformation” the president is accused of spreading, according to Axios. A junior State Department employee who previously argued Biden’s pro-Israel stance made him “complicit in genocide” organized the memo signed by 100 State Department and United States Agency for International Development employees, per the outlet. An Iranian-born Pentagon aide, who was revealed earlier this year to be part of a years-long, Tehran-backed influence operation, also sought to undermine the leading group resisting the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to a new report delivered to President Biden. Ariane Tabatabai has retained her security clearance and position as chief of staff to the Pentagon’s assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict — despite a bombshell Semafor report in September detailing her ties to senior Iranian Foreign Ministry officials. Israel calls on Hamas to surrender Shifa hospital base as US strikes Iran proxies in Syria . . . The Israeli military is calling on Hamas to surrender its bases in and under Shifa Hospital in Gaza on Monday, despite Hamas denials that it has such a base. Fighting has centered around the hospital for days as patients suffer a lack of resources. The U.S., meanwhile, has launched airstrikes against Iranian proxy terrorist groups in Syria. Fox News

When President Xi Jinping of China made his first state visit to the United States in 2015, he wrapped his demands for respect in reassurances. He courted tech executives, while defending China’s internet controls. He denied that China was militarizing the disputed South China Sea, while asserting its maritime claims there. He spoke hopefully of a “new model” for great power relations, in which Beijing and Washington would coexist peacefully as equals. But back in China, in meetings with the military, Mr. Xi was warning in strikingly stark terms that intensifying competition between a rising China and a long-dominant United States was all but unavoidable, and that the People’s Liberation Army should be prepared for a potential conflict. Seventy percent of voters believe Biden has hurt economy or left it unchanged: Poll . . . President Joe Biden’s economic agenda is a major factor amid growing concern in the Democratic Party that the president's reelection bid is in trouble. According to a new poll from the Financial Times and the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, 70% of voters think Biden’s economic plans have hurt America's economy or had no impact on it. A CVS store in Washington, D.C., isn't making toilet paper available on shelves, and customers are now forced to ask an employee to get the product from the store's backroom. Thanksgiving shutdown sets up nightmare scenario for travels . . . The government is days away from a Nov. 18 shutdown, which could force Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees and federal air traffic controllers to work without pay just as the busy Thanksgiving travel season begins. Around 4.7 million people are expected to fly over the five-day period surrounding Thanksgiving, the highest projection in nearly two decades, according to a forecast released Monday by AAA.
