December 22, 2023 Good morning, Leading the News . . . Do feds have FISA evidence on Bidens? Court memos suggest they might, and Congress wants it . . . Ever since Hunter Biden was captured in a recording calling his client, Patrick Ho, “the f—ing spy chief of
China,” questions have swirled around the Chinese official who headed a U.S.-based think-tank that worked to advance the interests of CEFC China Energy and its now-vanished founder, Ye Jianming. Court
records from Ho’s case reviewed by Just the News show the FBI and Justice Department gathered evidence under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) from around the time when Hunter Biden and his uncle James were dealing with CEFC officials, including Ho. Joe Biden also met twice with CEFC officials: once as vice president and once as a private citizen, according to statements made by a family friend to the FBI. Just the News US spy agencies likely do. The NSA SIGINT is a vacuum cleaner. All you need to do is plug in, in the database, the name, phone number, e-mail, other selectors and voila. If this were Trump, the FISA evidence would have been leaked a long time ago. Hamas terror tunnels were built with your money . . . By Douglas Murray. I have a great money-saving idea. Americans want to reign in their government’s spending. So I have a proposal. Stop sending money to terrorists. Earlier this week I was back inside Gaza with the Israeli Defense Forces. This time I went in on foot through the Eretz crossing where Hamas forces attacked on the morning of October 7th, killing several soldiers and abducting others. The scenes of the intensive fighting are visible
everywhere. But our destination was inside the strip. Specifically, a vast tunnel entrance the Israelis had just uncovered only 400 meters from the Israeli border. It is part of the huge underground network built by Hamas in the last 16 years. And this one is a real spectacle. The project to build it was led by Muhammad Sinwar, the brother of Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader who planned the October 7th massacres. Indeed there is footage of Yahya Sinwar riding through this exact tunnel. New York Post
Mainstream media admit 'foolish' Colorado Supreme Court ruling is gift to Trump . . . Several mainstream media outlets published pieces this week arguing that the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to bar former President Trump from the state’s primary ballot is a "gift" to his re-election campaign. Columns in CNN, The L.A. Times, and a report from NBC News insisted that the state Supreme Court’s invocation of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to remove Trump from the ballot does the
opposite of block him from being president again. It gives him a "boost." Fox News Will Partisan Lawfare Destroy Trump? . . . By Victor Davis Hanson. Trump Derangement Syndrome became Orwellian with the recent ruling of the Colorado Supreme Court. We have never seen anything like this before in American history. It approved the erasure of Trump from the Republican primary ballot in Colorado, by invoking Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. That
ossified clause was intended to bar any ante-bellum federal officials who joined the Confederacy from again holding federal offices after 1865. In no way is Trump’s conduct on January 6 comparable to calling for secession, much less prompting a Civil War that cost the country 700,000 lives. American Greatness Michigan Law to Register Prisoners So They Can Vote Upon Release . . . A new law in Michigan means that inmates leaving prison will be registered automatically to
vote, among other election-related measures signed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat. Michigan is one of 23 states that already allow those with felony convictions to reclaim their voting rights, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. However, under the new law inmates will be preregistered while still incarcerated, so that they will be on the state’s voter registration rolls upon release. “Most states establish a system for restoring felon voting rights. What we are
seeing in Michigan is politicians who think they might benefit from a supposed voting bloc,” Jason Snead, executive director of the Honest Elections Project, told The Daily Signal Greg Gutfeld: Democrats are freaking out
Biden
commutes sentences for 11 convicted of drug crimes, targeting 'unjustified disparities' . . . President Biden is granting clemency to 11 drug dealers convicted of non-violent crimes, as well as rolling back anti-drug laws on federal land. The White House announced Biden's decision via a statement Friday in which the president offered his reasoning for approving the sudden release of nearly a dozen drug-related offenders. Fox News Evidently, it's not enough for Biden to flow foreign criminals through the Southern Border poisoning the blood of the American Society, he has to release our own dangerous characters into our mix. The Biden Administration’s Sinister Deal With Venezuela . . . On the surface it appears President Joe Biden inked a sweet deal with Venezuela’s tyrant leader, Nicolas Maduro, on Wednesday. Caracas will release 10 Americans
and 20 members of Venezuela’s opposition in exchange for a single scumbag businessman. Thirty for one is not bad as far as hostage negotiations go, but the math tells only part of the story. Just ask the Israelis who traded 1,072 terrorists for the freedom of Gilad Shalit in 2011. The Biden deal will free a dangerous man at a dangerous time. Alex Saab is an operative for Hezbollah’s external security organization, known as Islamic Jihad. A jury convicted him in May of receiving training from Hezbollah and making false statements, and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. According to the Justice Department, Saab surveilled sites in New York City as possible targets for terrorist attacks, focusing
on "the structural weaknesses of locations … in order to determine how a future attack could cause the most destruction." Free Beacon 'YOU CANNOT BE THIS DUMB': Republican rep says border crisis is 'done on purpose'
CCP-Tied Firm Slated To Build Massive Facility Near Sensitive US Military Sites . . . The Chinese parent of a firm slated to develop a manufacturing facility near several Midwest military bases has extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation based on research conducted by The Heritage Foundation Oversight Project and Heritage Action. Cnano Technology USA Inc. (Cnano USA) plans to invest in a 333,000-square-foot
facility in Johnson County, Kansas, that will manufacture liquid conductive paste for electric vehicle batteries and other devices, according to an August announcement from the Kansas City Area Development Council, which partnered with the state and other parties to attract the firm to Kansas. Cnano USA’s $95 million facility will be built approximately 35 miles from Fort Leavenworth, and 70 miles from the “only operational base for the B-2,” Whiteman Air Force Base. Israel
broadens Gaza assault ahead of Security Council aid vote . . . Israeli forces signalled they were widening their ground offensive with a new push into central Gaza on Friday, as the U.N. Security Council was expected to vote on a resolution to increase humanitarian aid to stave off the threat of famine. As hopes faded for an imminent breakthrough in talks this week in Egypt aimed at getting warring Israel and Hamas to agree to a new truce, air strikes, artillery bombardments and
fighting were reported across the Palestinian enclave. Reuters Five appalling crimes around the world in 2023 . . . A prolific child serial killer sentenced in England, hundreds of dead bodies recovered from a Christian cult in Kenya, and a violent takedown of El Chapo's son in Mexico were among some of the most notable crime stories from around the world this year. Four Americans were kidnapped in Mexico by cartels shortly after crossing the
U.S. border; a German gunman carried out a mass shooting attack at a Jehovah's Witnesses center in Hamburg. Here are five world crime stories in 2023. Fox News
How
Putin’s Right-Hand Man Took Out Prigozhin . . . On the tarmac of a Moscow airport in late August, Yevgeny Prigozhin waited on his Embraer Legacy 600 for a safety check to finish before it could take off. The mercenary army chief was headed home to St. Petersburg with nine others onboard. Through the delay, no one inside the cabin noticed the small explosive device slipped under the wing. When the jet finally left, it climbed for about 30 minutes to 28,000 feet, before the wing blew
apart, sending the aircraft spiraling to the ground. All 10 people were killed, including Prigozhin, the owner of the Wagner paramilitary group. The assassination of the warlord was two months in the making
and approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s oldest ally and confidant, an ex-spy named Nikolai Patrushev, according to Western intelligence officials and a former Russian intelligence officer. The role of Patrushev as the driver of the plan to kill Prigozhin hasn’t been previously reported. Wall Street Journal Ships rerouted by Red Sea crisis face overwhelmed African ports . . . Shipping companies sailing around the Cape
of Good Hope to avoid Houthi attacks on the Red Sea face tough choices over where to refuel and restock, as African ports struggle with red tape, congestion and poor facilities, companies and analysts say. Hundreds of large vessels are rerouting around the southern tip of Africa, a longer route adding 10-14 days of travel, to escape drone and missile attacks by Yemeni Houthis that have pushed up oil prices and freight rates. Money Baby boomers are becoming wealthier, while younger generations lag behind, Fed report finds . . . Americans who fall into the baby boomer generation are becoming older, wiser and, apparently, wealthier — while younger generations are reportedly falling
behind. "Young persons who haven't had the time to save money and to buy a home, they are not seeing that same kind of increase in wealth. But [for] existing homeowners, it has been an absolute boon for them," The Heritage Foundation economist E.J. Antoni told FOX Business’ Gerri Willis. According to Federal Reserve data from Q3 2023, Americans over the age of 55 now own 72% of the nation’s wealth, with those above 70 holding 30% of all wealth while seeing the biggest gain over the past year at
$3.57 trillion. Fox Business Putin seizes control of Russia's biggest car dealership . . . President Vladimir Putin placed Russia's biggest car dealership under temporary state management on Friday, in a step the Kremlin said was driven by commercial logic but which its founder said made the country look uninvestable. Rolf, which is owned by a Cyprus-based firm and was founded by Russian businessman Sergei Petrov, was one of the first
car dealerships to emerge after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Its seizure, set out in a decree published on a government website, comes after Moscow has taken temporary control this year of several Western-owned assets in response to Russian assets being frozen or disrupted by sanctions in the West. Culture Mike Johnson Is a Good Father. The Left Hates Him for It. . . . Corporate media journalists are still out for new House Speaker Mike Johnson’s, R-La., blood. This week’s contrived controversy is that Johnson took his teenage daughter to a “purity ball” in
2015. ABC News claims to have “unearthed” a German TV news segment featuring Johnson, his wife Kelly, and his daughter Hannah, who was 13 at the time. According to ABC, the video showed “Johnson and his daughter at the ball with numerous other father-daughter pairs and shows Johnson’s daughter vowing to him to live a life of purity, as well as her signing a pledge.” As part of the pledge, Hannah made her “commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future husband, and my future children
… to a lifetime of purity, including sexual purity.” That is a beautiful commitment, though one might wonder why ABC finds it newsworthy. As they come of age, young girls should be thinking about the future
effects of their decisions for themselves and others. Such guidance could spare many women the heartbreaks and despair caused by hookup culture. Daily Signal

holiday travel season in years is off to a smooth start with few airport delays . . . The holiday travel rush hit its peak Friday as mild weather and lower flight cancellation rates raised hopes for merrier drivers and airline passengers than last year. U.S. airlines are predicting a blockbuster holiday season and have projected confidence they can handle the crowds after hiring thousands of pilots, flight attendants, and other workers, seeking to avoid the delays and suspensions that
marred travel last year and culminated with the Southwest Airlines debacle that stranded more than 2 million people. Washington Examiener IRONY ALERT: Maine Vote on Banning Gas Cars Delayed by Power Outages . . . Was it a message from God? Maine Governor Janet Mills has proposed that Maine adopt California's ban on all sales of internal combustion vehicles by 2035. But just when the Maine Board of Environmental Protection was supposed to
