Biden wants to keep illegal immigrants in Texas . . . The Biden administration is considering forcing some migrant families who enter the country without authorization to remain near the border in Texas while awaiting asylum screening,
effectively limiting their ability to travel within the United States, three U.S. officials told The Times. Administration officials have been considering the idea as a way to stem recent increases in the numbers of migrant families crossing the southern border, which reportedly reached an all-time high last month. Supporters of the remain-in-Texas idea, which has yet to be finalized, hope that it would help the administration advance its goals of quickly deporting families who fail initial
asylum screenings and deterring other families from crossing in the first place. Los Angeles Times
Don't be fooled. They're not going to quickly deport anyone. They are trying to appears NYC Mayor Adams and other liberals in the north who are whining that these
illegal immigrants are flooding into their cities.
Migrant influx overflows NTC high school . . . A Queens high school hit capacity Thursday morning, sending some students to a facility across the street as thousands of migrant students seemed to inundate classrooms — even as only
two-thirds of students reportedly show up to class due to chronic absenteeism. With 21,000 new migrant students enrolled in schools across the Big Apple and new data released by the Department of Education Wednesday showing 36% of students were chronically absent last year, the situation at Newcomers could only get worse if the no-show students start attending class. Democrats have growing fears about Biden . . . Democrats woke up Thursday to yet another poll showing a large percentage of voters are concerned about
President Biden’s age and data that showed most GOP primary candidates fared well in hypothetical match-ups with Biden. A CNN poll contained numerous red flags for Biden and Democrats. Biden’s overall approval rating in the poll was 39 percent, and just 74 percent among Democrats.
And in hypothetical head-to-heads, Biden is neck and neck with most of his potential Republican opponents, including former President Donald Trump, the front-runner for the GOP nomination. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley led Biden by 6 points in a theoretical general election match-up between the two, according to the CNN poll. The Hill
The problem isn't
Biden's age. It's that he's old for his age, and deteriorating.
Nikki Haley on a roll . . . Nikki Haley is on a roll — but the question is how far it will take
her. Haley has emerged as the clear winner of the first Republican debate, held in Milwaukee on Aug. 23. Her polls have ticked up in the aftermath — both nationally and in the key early states. She has got an infusion of fundraising. Her campaign aides eagerly note that she has been seeing bigger crowds on the stump too. The Hill
Kamala: I'm ready to be president! . . . Vice President Kamala Harris said she is ready to take
over as president but dismissed the idea that her transition to the Oval Office will be needed. "Yes, I am, if necessary," Harris said when asked by CBS News's Margaret Brennan if she is ready to be commander in chief. "But Joe Biden is going to be fine." Brennan cited a recent Wall Street Journal poll that found two-thirds of Democrats believe Biden is too old to be president. Washington Examiner
Well, I think she's find out she is mistaken.
Trump appearance with SD Gov. Kristi Noem fuels VP talk . . . It's billed as a fundraiser for the South Dakota GOP, but a Friday rally with former President Donald Trump and the deep red state's conservative two-term Gov. Kristi Noem could signal much more. Trump is headlining the sold-out political gathering in Rapid City, South Dakota. Noem, a longtime Trump supporter and ally, will appear with him on stage and is
expected to endorse the former president. And just as important, the appearance of the two politicians joining forces is sparking speculation that the former president may be eyeing the governor as a potential running mate in 2024. Fox News

Boys trending conservative . . . The kids aren’t all right, but more and more young men are seeing red. A recent survey by Monitoring the Future, an academic project that has been studying American youth for decades, found that 23% of 12th grade boys identified as conservative in 2022, while only 13% described themselves as
liberal. The study, by the University of Michigan, was first conducted in 1976, at which point just 17% of high school boys saw themselves as conservative and 25% identified as liberal. Their female peers, meanwhile, have gone more to the left, with 30% identifying as liberal in 2022, compared to 12% conservative. NY Post

Musk helped save Ukraine in early hours of the war . . . An hour before Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, it used a massive
malware attack to disable the routers of the American satellite company Viasat that provided communications to the country. The command system of the Ukrainian military was crippled, making it almost impossible to mount a defense. Top Ukrainian officials frantically appealed to SpaceX founder Elon Musk for help, and the deputy prime minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, used Twitter to urge him to send Ukraine terminals so it could use the satellite system that the company had built. “We ask you to
provide Ukraine with Starlink stations,” he wrote.
King Charles is surprisingly popular . . . King Charles III became monarch a year ago with the potential for much to go wrong. He was following Britain’s longest-serving and much-beloved monarch Queen Elizabeth
II, he had a record of outspoken activism and his son was taking potshots at the monarchy from his new home in America.
But a year on, Charles has proved surprisingly popular, with a regal recipe largely taken from his late mother—whose first rule was always to steady the ship by being as uncontroversial as possible. A year into his reign, Charles’s
popularity has stabilized with 62% of Britons having a positive opinion of him. Wall Street Journal

Fall in home prices may be over . . . After declining on a year-over-year basis for five consecutive months—the longest run of declines in 11 years—U.S. home prices rose in July. The surprisingly quick recovery suggests that the residential real-estate downturn is turning out to be shorter and shallower than many housing economists expected after mortgage rates soared last year. Scarcity is a big reason.
High interest rates have prompted homeowners to stay put rather than buy new homes and take on more expensive mortgages, resulting in an unusually low inventory of homes for sale. Wall Street Journal

School district hires drag queen to be principal . . . The superintendent of the State of Oklahoma, Ryan Walters, called for Western Heights School District to "immediately" terminate a drag queen they hired to be an elementary school principal. "It's outrageous to have a drag queen running a school, you know, here in Oklahoma that doesn't line up with Oklahoma values," Walters told Fox News Digital. "I
hear from parents every day that are concerned with this woke left-wing indoctrination or schools, this gender theory that continues to be thrust upon our kids. It's completely inappropriate." The principal of John Glenn Elementary School, Shane Murnan, is a drag queen who goes by the name "Shantel Mandalay," Fox News Digital can confirm. Fox News
There's a lot
students can learn from a drag queen. The problem is, none of it is good.
Company replaces Xmas Eve with Juneteenth as paid holiday . . . Emory Healthcare plans
to replace its company holiday on Christmas Eve with Juneteenth in the name of “equity,” requiring workers to take paid time off or show up for work rather than observe one of the most cherished Christian holidays of the year. Emory Healthcare CEO Joon S. Lee said in a memo to employees that Juneteenth, which falls on June 19, would become “an EHC observed holiday,” but that Georgia’s largest hospital network would remove Christmas Eve to keep the number of annual paid holidays to nine. “We hope
this will allow more opportunities for celebration, reflection and education,” Mr. Lee said in the Aug. 31 memo posted online. Washington Times

Jimmy Fallon
is the boss from hell . . . According to two current and 14 former employees, The Tonight Show has been a toxic workplace for years — far outside the boundaries of what’s considered normal in the high-pressure world of late-night TV. They say the ugly environment behind the scenes starts at the top with Fallon’s erratic behavior, and has trickled down to its ever-changing leadership teams — nine showrunners in the past nine years — who seemingly don’t know how to say no to Jimmy.
Former employees describe The Tonight Show as a tense and “pretty glum atmosphere,” with some alleging they were belittled and intimidated by their bosses, including Fallon himself. Employees describe being afraid of Fallon’s “outbursts” and unexpected, inconsistent behavior. Many of these staffers voiced their concerns through HR complaints, but problems at The Tonight Show persisted. Rolling Stone
Ten mistakes that could be taking years off your life . . . If food is medicine, many Americans are in dire need of a new prescription, according to experts. Adults who stick to a healthy diet are much less likely to experience obesity, heart disease, diabetes and even some types of cancer, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — yet most Americans aren’t getting the nutrition they need. Worse still, they’re eating excessive
amounts of the wrong things. "Nutrition is thought to dictate about 80% of one’s health, and obesity irrefutably shaves nearly 10 years off a person’s life," said Dr. Brett Osborn, a board-certified neurosurgeon. Fox News
