Jan. 6 Probe Wants To 'Destroy Donald Trump' but Ignore Police Chiefs: GOP Shadow Panel . . . A Republican shadow panel on the January 6 attack will focus on police leaders' failings, one of its members has detailed—insisting the House's official panel is only seeking to "destroy" Donald Trump. Troy Nehls told Newsweek the shadow panel's report will focus on a lack of preparation from Capitol Police chiefs and the failure to deploy the
National Guard at the Capitol, rather than look at the actions of rioters or former President Trump. The Representative from Texas is one of five Republicans in the party's shadow panel conducting their own interviews and inquiries about January 6, to build a counter report to the House investigation ahead of the midterms in November. "They're not out to get the truth. They want to destroy Donald Trump," Nehls said of the House committee, which consists of seven Democrats and two
Republicans. "That's the whole objective, to try to hurt the Republicans as much as they can in the midterms and make sure Donald Trump doesn't come back in 2024. Newsweek
Trump 'TRUTH Social' launch expected by end of March, sources say . . . EXCLUSIVE: The servers for former President Donald Trump's TRUTH Social are up and running and will have the platform fully operational by the expected end-of-quarter launch date, FOX Business has learned. Sources familiar told FOX Business that beta testing for the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) TRUTH Social is also underway, and that the average user in
the United States can expect to download the app and create accounts by the end of March. TRUTH Social, while not yet public, is available for pre-order in the Apple App Store. Sources told Fox News that TMTG is not relying on any traditional big tech companies for infrastructure needs, sources said, but rather on its cloud services partnership with Rumble. Fox Business
The Donald had better plan for enough server space and then double or triple it.
Biden meets with his “friend” Billie Eilish and her brother . . . "When I heard my friends @billieeilish and @finneas were in town for a show, I knew I had to invite them over to the White House. Great to see you and your family — and I’m glad you got to meet Commander," President Biden wrote on Twitter, posting a photo of himself with the famous siblings musicians. White House Dossier
First things first. Sleepy Joe is trying to ingratiate himself with the millennials after the recent scandal when
Democrats scramble to reverse course on COVID restrictions ahead of midterms . . . Democrats across the country are scrambling to reverse course on COVID-19 restrictions as this year's midterm elections loom. With the notable exception of the White House, Democrats at every level are signaling their support for returning to normal as polls show Americans are weary of coronavirus restrictions, which Republican states have largely done
away with. According to a recent poll by Monmouth University, 70% of Americans say it’s time for the country to move on from the pandemic, and a decreasing number of Americans support COVID-related mandates. President Biden’s approval ratings on handling COVID, once a strength, are also now underwater, with 43% approving and 53% disapproving, according to the poll.Biden has chosen to follow the lead of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which still recommends universal
masking indoors and in schools. Fox News
Biden’s cognitive function shouldn’t be partisan . . . Dozens of Republicans penned a letter to President Biden asking him to take a cognitive test, release the results and put to rest the concerns of the many, oh so many, in America and around the world who think he’s mentally unfit for the high office. If he can put the concerns to rest, that is. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue. This shouldn’t be a Republican versus
Democrat issue.
This is an American issue. It goes to the question of America’s ability to lead on the world stage; to the question of the president’s ability to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies, both foreign and domestic; to the question of this White House’s ability to keep the country safe and secure, free from the dangers of Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and the like. In other words: Democrats should care as much as Republicans about these matters. They’re not
political — until they’re politicized. Washington Times
State Department Impeding Investigation Into Hunter Biden, GOP Senators Claim . . . Two Republican senators say the State Department impeded an investigation into Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings by "inappropriately" classifying emails about his work in Ukraine. Sens. Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and Ron Johnson (Wis.) in a letter exclusively obtained by the Washington Free Beacon wrote that the department "improperly" classified an
explosive document about Hunter Biden's work for Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company whose owner was investigated for bribery. "Recent records have come to light confirming that the State Department withheld records from our offices and improperly restrained us from making information public by inappropriately classifying information during our investigation into conflicts of interest involving Hunter Biden," they wrote to Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The email, sent
by State Department official George Kent, makes reference to a bribe paid to Ukrainian officials to shut down an investigation into Burisma's owner, Mykola Zlochevsky. Grassley and Johnson allege that both President Joe Biden and his son used their influence in the United States to snag lucrative business deals. Washington Free Beacon
Biden admin, Dems wage war on US oil and gas industry . . . The Biden administration and Democrats have waged war on the American oil and gas industry, all while Russia expands its oil and gas footprint around the world. Off the bat, President Biden canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline, stopped leasing on federal lands, and unleashed regulations that have destroyed at least 10,000 good-paying oil and gas jobs. As a member of Congress, it is
my duty to inform the public and stand up against flawed regulations that will impede or damage the lives of the American people. With many crises facing the nation like record high gas prices, inflation, and the onslaught against American energy independence, we must continue to fight to bring stability to this country and further American exceptionalism. DOD blasted for tweet touting 'diversity' and 'inclusion' as 'necessity' in the military . . . "NEWS: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Are Necessities in U.S. Military," the Department of Defense posted Wednesday along with an article outlining the many ways the military is pushing for diversity in its ranks and says that the "need for diversity, equity and inclusion to be a consideration or a part of all decisions in the
military." "I would hope that as many leaders and members of the total force as possible see [diversity, equity and inclusion] efforts as a force multiplier," Bishop Garrison, the senior advisor to the secretary of defense for human capital and diversity, equity and inclusion, said in the article, which added that the diversity program can be a "way to make the U.S. military more successful in achieving critical missions and in making forces more lethal." We’re Nearing War With Russia, And Nobody’s Allowed To Cover It . . . American journalists have not been granted the opportunity to embed with U.S. troops deployed to Eastern Europe amid tensions with Russia. The first U.S. troops landed at a military base near the Poland-Ukraine border on Saturday to assist North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies during Russia’s deployment of 130,000 troops along Ukraine’s border. President Joe
Biden approved the deployment of roughly 3,000 troops to head to Poland, Germany and Romania in early February. Media organizations have now urged the Pentagon to allow journalists to embed with U.S. troops with the intent of serving the public. Several requests by media organizations to travel to Eastern European military bases have been denied, CNN reported. The Military Reporters & Editors Association formally asked the Department of Defense on Saturday to allow
journalists to accompany U.S. troops to Eastern Europe in a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Daily Caller
Of course, the Pentagon denied these requests. The apparatchiks don't want Americans to know the truth. So far, the events are unfolding, according Putin's Playbook, which I described in my book.
DIA and CIA tried to cancel my book, Putin's Playbook: Russia's Secret Plan to Defeat America because I exposed the bureaucracy's incompetence about Russia and ex-president Obama's unwillingness to accept the intelligence that didn't align with his plans to "reset"
Putin's brain and make him America's friend. The Washington national security apparatus had all of 20 years to develop a counter-strategy and had all the intel available about Putin's masterplan. Now they are trying to come up with a magic bullet to frighten Putin with sanctions. Vladimir is scared to death.
US warns Russia is still ramping up military activity near Ukraine . . . US officials have warned that Russia has continued to ramp up its military activity around the Ukrainian border, despite a flurry of diplomatic efforts to defuse the crisis including a high-profile visit to Moscow this week by French president Emmanuel Macron. The White House and the Pentagon on Wednesday said Moscow was increasing its military presence near Ukraine,
even though Macron earlier this week said Russian president Vladimir Putin had assured him there would be no “deterioration or escalation” in the stand-off. “We have continued to see even over the last 24 hours additional capabilities flow from elsewhere in Russia to that border with Ukraine and Belarus,” John Kirby, Pentagon spokesperson, said. “The numbers continue to grow. We maintain that he’s north of 100,000 [troops] for sure. And he continues to add to that capability. We also
see indications that additional battalion tactical groups are on their way. And so every day he adds to his options.” Financial Times
State Dept.: Russia set to provoke Ukraine invasion . . . The State Department is warning that intelligence information indicates Russia is set to conduct a covert disinformation operation in Ukraine that will be used as a pretext for an invasion.
State Department spokesperson Ned Price told reporters on Monday in releasing intelligence on a potential “false flag” operation by Moscow during the current Ukraine standoff that it would be similar to the ruse the Russians applied prior to the 2014 takeover of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula. That invasion was preceded by false reports claiming Russians in Crimea were being attacked, including the claim that a three-year-old Russian boy had been crucified by anti-Russian Ukrainians and
therefore Moscow had no choice but to invade. Mr. Price said the intelligence suggests the Russians are preparing “to fabricate a pretext for this aggression very similar to what they did in 2014.” Washington Times

Turkey steps up Ukraine support as Germany remains distant . . . Russian warships enter Black Sea near port city of Odessa
Fox News' Lucas Tomlinson has the latest on Ukraine-Russia tensions. Turkey’s support of Ukraine in the face of a possible invasion by Russia, despite recent troubles with Europe, highlights Germany’s hesitancy as tensions remain high. "On the particular issue of Russia’s possible invasion of Ukraine, I think Turkey’s playing a helpful role," James Anderson, undersecretary of defense for policy under former President Trump, told Fox News Digital. "They have stated quite clearly
that they oppose any further Russian invasion of Ukraine. They have clearly stated their opposition to Russia’s intervention in Georgia a few years ago. Those statements are welcome." Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in January approved the sale of drones to Ukraine and last week clearly stated Turkey’s willingness to "stand by … and help" Ukraine. Erdogan also stressed that "Turkey continues to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea," during a
meeting last week with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Fox News
Turkey is trying to redeem itself for its previous anti-NATO behavior of cozying up to Putin's Russia.

COVID pivot: Dems do 180 on pandemic response, attempt to rewrite history . . . Biden, allies pivot from war footing to moving past virus, claiming credit while announcing policies long since implemented by red states. With the midterm elections in sight, President Biden and fellow Democrats in Congress and governors' mansions nationwide are completing a 180 on their COVID-19 response, abandoning the president's
promise to "shut down" the virus as Americans say they want to "get on with their lives." In the process, Democrats have begun to lift key COVID-19 restrictions and return to normal life — the same approach, long embraced by red states, that they once rebuked as cruel and dangerous. Yet Biden and his Democratic allies are now taking credit for ending the pandemic while adopting these same policies. Just the News
Fauci says he might be willing to back off . . . National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci is saying that the COVID crisis may be exiting the pandemic phase. What he means is, demands from the federal government and efforts to abridge of local freedoms might finally be coming to an end. Unfortunately, the White House and the bureaucracy have already tasted newfound power and will use it.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky isn’t standing down, though. She wants everyone, including kids at school, to continue wearing masks indoors.
According to The Hill: The U.S. is exiting the “full-blown” pandemic phase of the years-long COVID-19 crisis that began in 2020, the Biden administration’s chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci told the Financial Times on Tuesday. Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that new developments that limit COVID-19, including vaccinations, medical treatments and prior infection, will alter the pandemic situation significantly in the
coming months. White House Dossier
COVID-19 seems to increase risk of serious heart ailments year after recovery: report . . . Any infection with COVID-19—regardless of severity—seems to increase the risk of heart ailments for survivors, according to a new study that one researcher called "stunning." The study found an increased risk of 20 different heart and vessel issues for those who’ve had the virus a year earlier, Science magazine reported. "Governments and
health systems around the world should be prepared to deal with the likely significant contribution of the COVID-19 pandemic to a rise in the burden of cardiovascular diseases," the paper read, according to the report. Fox News
US Appeals Court Will Not Reinstate Biden’s Vaccine Mandate for Federal Employees . . . A U.S. appeals court panel on Wednesday said it would not reinstate President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal employees, declining to overrule a lower court ruling that put the order on hold.
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals declined to stay the lower-court injunction against the mandate by a 2-1 vote and asked both parties to file arguments in March. The lower court’s injunction against the mandate was issued by Texas-based District Judge Jeffrey Brown last month, who ruled that Biden does not have the authority to impose such a mandate. In a 20-page ruling, the judge sided with plaintiffs who argued that language used in federal law does not give way to the mandate being
enforced. Epoch Times

Why High Gasoline Prices Could Stick Around for a While . . . Demand for oil is outstripping supply, with little promise of relief ahead. Here's how we got here. The run-up in gasoline prices was spurred by a supply-demand imbalance that developed in the oil market during the pandemic. Analysts have said that already-high crude prices could reach $100 a barrel this year, which doesn’t bode well for what Americans
pay at the pump or transportation costs throughout the economy. Before we examine the extended outlook for oil and gasoline, let’s review the market forces that pushed crude prices to their highest level in years. Why hasn’t supply kept up with demand? Despite rising consumption and dwindling inventories, producers have been slow to restore output to pre-pandemic levels. Spending on exploration and production has remained near its lowest level since the start of the shale drilling
boom. The number of rigs drilling in North America also reflects the pullback. Wall Street Journal
Inflation likely accelerated in January to another 40-year high . . . The newest inflation data out this week is expected to show another jaw-dropping figure as the price for a bevy of everyday consumer goods soared higher. The Labor Department is releasing the highly anticipated consumer price index on Thursday morning, providing a fresh look at just how hot inflation ran in January. Economists expect the gauge – which measures goods
ranging from gasoline and health care to groceries and rents – to show that prices surged 7.3% in January from the year-ago period, toppling the previous month's 39-year high of 7%. It would be the fastest increase in consumer prices since February 1982, when inflation hit 7.6%. Fox Business

Hollywood’s Shameful Love Affair With China . . . Throughout our ongoing struggles with China, one key battle appears to have already been won by our adversary: the battle for arts and entertainment. Boasting a population of over 1.4 billion people, many of whom have the financial means to pay for and consume a wide variety of forms of entertainment, their market share for television, movies, and art rivals that of the actual country that
produces the films, the United States. With a powerful government that has no qualms about restricting both media and the messages that its citizens consume, China has the ability to cut a movie’s box-office earnings in half, obliterate television show viewership numbers, and completely deny entertainers and celebrities any form of notoriety within their country at the push of a button. China’s impact on major American films is extremely strong, yet very subtle—so subtle that it would
go unnoticed by the public if it weren’t for eagle-eyed viewers. Daily Signal

Joe Rogan Mocks The Attacks On Him, Reminds People ‘Don’t Take’ His ‘Advice’ . . . Joe Rogan took to the stage Tuesday night in Texas for a stand-up routine and mocked the attacks on him as he reminded people not to take advice from him. “I used to say it if [I was talking about] a Richard Pryor bit or something, I would say it in context,” Rogan told the crowd, noting the recently resurfaced video of him using the N-word multiple times.
The comments were noted by the Hollywood Reporter in a piece published Wednesday. “Somebody made a compilation of every time I said that word over 14 years and they put it on YouTube, and it turned out that was racist as fuck,” he added. “Even to me! I’m me and I’m watching it saying, ‘Stop saying it!’ I put my cursor over the video and I’m like, ‘Four more minutes?!'” “I haven’t used that word in years,” Rogan continued. “But it’s kind of weird people will get really mad if you use
that weird and tweet about it on a phone that’s made by slaves.” Rogan also made fun of comments he made about the COVID-19 vaccine that lead artists, such as Neil Young, to boycott Spotify, the outlet noted. “I talk shit for a living — that’s why this is so baffling to me,” the comedian shared. “If you’re taking vaccine advice from me, is that really my fault? What dumb shit were you about to do when my stupid idea sounded better?” Daily Caller
I have a confession to make. I love Joe Rogan. Potty-mouth, notwithstanding, I admire his free spirit. Growing up behind the Iron Curtain, we were constantly watching over the shoulder who might be listening, in case you say something critical of the ruling class. That could get you in serious trouble with authorities.
To me, Joe Rogan is not just a comedian, MMA commentator (yes, I love MMA too!) and podcaster. To me, Joe Rogan represents freedom, the freedom that I sensed the minute I set my foot on American soil, more than 30 years ago. I no longer experience this amazing feeling of freedom in my adopted homeland. Living in a very liberal area, I often self-censor when I am in a "polite society" of Washington DC. Revealing your political views let's. say in company of parents of your kid's friends
could get your children ostracized, etc. The feeling of constant self-censorship gives me flashbacks to the Russia I fled. It stifling. This is why I launched my podcast Censored But Not Silenced. It's a way of being free again.

Here's Episode 1 of Censored But Not Silenced
What Jane Austen Can Teach Us About Dating and Romance Today . . . Few authors have influenced society’s ideas about romance more than Jane Austen. The English novelist, born in 1775, lived only to age 41. In her short life, Austin completed six novels, including her most famous, “Pride and Prejudice.” With Valentine’s Day just around the corner on Feb. 14—or the alternative Singles Awareness Day on Feb. 15— it’s a
good time to reflect on Austen’s legacy. Far more than the usual novelist, Austen instructs readers toward a moral good, just as a philosopher would. Austen challenges class structures and common stereotypes for both men and women. She forces readers to l ook past the surface in romantic relationships to consider the character and intellect of a life partner. Daily Signal
Beautifully said. Can't wait for Valentine's Day, to have a nice quiet dinner and a glass of champagne with my highly intellectual life partner. :-)
