Russiagate Dossier Revelations Require a Reckoning . . . Let’s be very blunt about the effects of the Steele dossier: This hoax, bought and paid for by the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and the DNC, was used to justify “resistance” to Donald Trump, and the lies that it spurred led to, among other things, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe and a cottage industry that was populated by Never-Trump types and the Left in the media. They
claimed it was about defending norms and standards, but these days, they’re destroying those norms and standards to get Trump and to make examples of his most prominent supporters to chill political opposition.
Abuses were carried out by the Left before Trump ran for office, during Trump’s administration, and since the Biden-Harris regime took over. The bulk-mail ballots, “Zuck bucks” in key locales, and other means of “fortifying” (as Time magazine reported, so it’s not a conspiracy theory) the 2020 election were, in some ways, "justified" by the rhetoric aimed at President Trump, partially from the Steele dossier, and partially from other lies.
How many times did the notion that Trump was a Russian puppet get pushed by the likes of Adam Schiff, Rachel Maddow, and others? Other claims, including that Trump supporters were Nazis, or that Republican healthcare proposals would kill tens of thousands, were also thrown around. So, we need more than a collective “oops.” We need accountability for this dossier. Patriot Post
Defiant Bannon warns of 'misdemeanor from hell' for Biden . . . Ex-Trump White House adviser Stephen Bannon threatened to make the charges against him “the misdemeanor from hell” for the Biden administration as he exited his first court appearance after being indicted for defying a congressional subpoena. The Department of Justice on Friday scored an indictment against Bannon after filing two charges of criminal contempt of Congress,
saying the former Trump staffer failed to “comply in any way” for a request for documents and a deposition from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
“I'm telling you right now, this is going to be the misdemeanor from hell for Merrick Garland, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. ... We’re going on the offense,” Bannon, referencing the attorney general who brought the charges against him and the House Speaker, told reporters as he was leaving the courthouse.
“They took on the wrong guy this time; they took on the wrong guys.” The Hill
New CTTN readers may not know this but my brilliant husband, veteran White House journalist Keith Koffler who is currently senior editor at Fox News Digital, wrote Bannon's biography, Bannon:
Always the Rebel. Please get your own copy. It's an excellent read and you'll learn a lot about the populist movement in America.
Florida’s DeSantis Takes Aim at America’s ‘Ruling Class’ . . . President Joe Biden and the “entrenched political class” are ruining America with the help of a corrupt and partisan corporate media, says Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who promised to lead the fight against the current regime. In a 40-minute speech Thursday to about 800 conservative supporters of The Heritage Foundation, the Florida governor tackled a range of
issues where Biden and his left-wing allies want to transform America. DeSantis reserved some of his strongest criticism for the “elites” and “globalists” who he said have led America astray.
“Biden really represents potentially the culmination of—or, I mean, hopefully, the coup de grâce of—this entrenched political class that has really ruined a lot about our country over the last generation. It’s not limited to just Democrats,” DeSantis said. “There’s a uni-party in Washington, D.C., and they look out for themselves more than the rest of the American people.” Daily Signal
Biden Signs $1 Trillion Infrastructure Bill Into Law . . . President Biden signed into law a roughly $1 trillion infrastructure bill to repair the nation’s aging roads and bridges, upgrade the electrical grid and expand access to broadband internet. The legislation, the largest federal investment in infrastructure in more than a decade, is a central component of Mr. Biden’s domestic-policy agenda and marks a rare bipartisan policy win for
the White House. “The bill I’m about to sign is proof that despite the cynics, Democrats and Republicans can come together and deliver results,” Mr. Biden said Monday afternoon during a ceremony at the White House that included lawmakers, state and local officials, and business leaders. A roughly $2 trillion healthcare, education and climate-change package, another broad plank of Mr. Biden’s agenda, is still being debated by Democrats in Congress. Wall Street Journal
Midterm gloom grows for Democrats . . . Democrats are growing gloomier in their outlook for the midterms next year amid President Biden’s poor approval ratings, nagging economic issues and GOP advantages in the redistricting process.
Sen. Patrick Leahy’s (D-Vt.) announcement Monday that he will retire cast another spotlight on the growing uncertainty over whether Democrats will be able to keep control of the Senate and House. Leahy is 81, has served eight terms and said it was time for a new generation to represent Vermont. “It is time to put down the gavel. It is time to pass the torch to the next Vermonter,” he said at a press conference at the Vermont State House.
His seat also is unlikely to be a big GOP target given the Democratic leanings of Vermont. Yet it was easy to see how the prospect of losing the Senate majority in a chamber now split 50-50 between the parties could be a factor for a veteran senator to decide to hang it up. The Hill
Biden insisted he and Xi were not ‘old friends’; so Xi calls him ‘my old friend’ . . . Chinese President Xi Jinping was having a little fun it seems at Joe Biden’s expense. Xi referred to President Biden as his “old friend” ahead of a highly anticipated virtual summit meeting Monday evening that followed months of tense diplomatic relations between the two nations. Xi’s choice of words to describe his relationship with Biden contradicted
the way both the president and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki have characterized their relationship. “It’s the first time for us to meet virtually. Although it’s not as good as a face-to-face meeting, I’m very happy to see my old friend,” Xi said through a translator at the start of the meeting. White House Dossier
Biden and Harris hug and smile during infrastructure signing despite conflict rumors . . . President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were all hugs and smiles during the bipartisan infrastructure bill signing ceremony Monday amid reports of growing White House tensions. Harris and her allies are said to be frustrated with her assignments, believing she has not been set up for success by the administration. Others in the West
Wing are irritated by her performance in office and, especially, her staff. But none of this acrimony was on display as Biden and Harris joined together to affectionately celebrate a key legislative victory on infrastructure. The two walked out of the White House with arms linked. “And here is what I know to be true, Mr. President: You are equal parts believer and builder,” Harris said. “And because you are, we are all better off. On behalf of our nation: Thank you, Mr. President.” Washington Examiner

Russian direct-ascent anti-satellite missile test creates significant, long-lasting space debris . . . PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colorado. – Russia tested a direct-ascent anti-satellite (DA-ASAT) missile on Nov. 15, 2021, Moscow Standard Time, that struck a Russian satellite [COSMOS 1408] and created a debris field in low-Earth orbit. The test so far has generated more than 1,500 pieces of trackable orbital debris and will likely
generate hundreds of thousands of pieces of smaller orbital debris. “Russia has demonstrated a deliberate disregard for the security, safety, stability, and long-term sustainability of the space domain for all nations,” said U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander. “The debris created by Russia's DA-ASAT will continue to pose a threat to activities in outer space for years to come, putting satellites and space missions at risk, as well as forcing more collision
avoidance maneuvers. Space activities underpin our way of life and this kind of behavior is simply irresponsible.” US SPACE Command
The main security implication is not the debris however, but Russia's signaling of this what the Russians term as "space weapon" mean for a conflict between the United States and Russia, which Moscow view as inevitable. US is highly reliant for its space assets in many aspects of of our civilian life and for our technologically-depend war-fighting style. Russia plans to disrupt, degrade or destroy US satellites to blind and deafen our command & control in wartime. For more details,

Russia warned of serious consequences from any hostilities against Ukraine . . . Russia will face “serious consequences” if it threatens Ukraine’s territorial integrity, Paris and Berlin have warned, as ministers held meetings to discuss the threat posed by a build-up of troops on the country’s border. In a joint statement, Heiko Maas and Jean-Yves Le Drian, the foreign ministers of Germany and France, pledged “unwavering support for the
independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” after meeting their counterpart from Kyiv. Their words came after Jens Stoltenberg, Nato’s secretary-general, called on Moscow to ease tensions with Ukraine and be transparent about its military activities as he warned of “unusual concentrations” of Russian troops near the country’s borders. The US briefed allies last week on intelligence indicating Moscow was preparing for a possible invasion of Ukraine. Vladimir Putin,
Russia’s president, has dismissed the fears as “alarmist” and accused Nato of inflaming tensions in the region with its own unplanned exercises. Financial Times
As most military agencies fail annual audit, comptroller claims ‘steady progress’ . . . The Pentagon’s fourth annual audit saw just eight of 24 military agencies likely to receive a clean financial bill of health, the same number as last year, signifying only incremental improvements and a long road ahead to the military-wide passing grade sought by good government groups and members of Congress. Still, Mike McCord, the Pentagon
comptroller, told press ahead of the audit’s release Monday night that the department is making “steady progress” towards its goal without taking any steps back year over year. Of the 3,482 issues identified in last year’s audit, the department has remedied over 450 of them, or 13%; when the audit is fully finished, that number is expected to rise to 19%. Breaking Defense
Israel Is at the Center of a New International Security Order . . . Iran couldn’t have been happy to see forces from Bahrain, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and the U.S. Navy training together for the first time in history. Last week’s five-day drill in the Red Sea was intended to enhance interoperability among the countries, but also sent a strong message to Tehran: There’s now a large, organized bloc of countries opposed to its ambitions
of regional hegemony. The bloc’s nexus is Israel. The Abraham Accords—which Israel, the U.A.E. and Bahrain signed in September 2020—smoothed the way for last week’s joint exercise.
Since the Cold War, Israel has been a part of the U.S. European Command’s area of responsibility rather than that of Central Command, which stretches from Egypt to Kazakhstan. Though it makes more geographic sense for Israel to be included in Centcom, doing so would have upset the many countries in that area of responsibility that until recently didn’t recognize Israel. If the Centcom forces trained with Israel, many other regional allies would have refused to conduct joint exercises. The
Abraham Accords altered the geopolitical landscape. In January the U.S. announced Israel would become a part of Centcom’s area of responsibility, making it easier for the U.S. to organize joint military drills in Israel. Wall Street Journal

Afghanistan’s Shiite Minority Cautiously Embraces Taliban Rule, Seeking Protection . . .
Going house to house in January 2001, Taliban fighters rounded up hundreds of men in this Shiite town and nearby villages. Then they executed their captives, leaving piles of bodies in the snow-covered fields.
These days, a Shiite flag lauding Imam Hussain, Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, flies next to the Taliban’s white banner atop Yakawlang’s district government compound. Most of the Taliban fighters and officials here are local Shiites who joined the Sunni Islamist insurgency years ago, as the downfall of the American-backed Afghan republic became increasingly likely. Bitter memories of the 2001 killings, they say, influenced this switch. Wall Street Journal
Arab spy chiefs found an inner circle in Cairo, embrace Syria with US nod . . . A group of Arab intelligence directors got together for a secret rendezvous in Cairo last week, DEBKAfile’s sources reveal. The project was initiated by the US CIA and Egypt’s president Abdel Fateh El-Sisi. Prominent as a special guest was Syria’s Maj. Gen. Hussam Luka (see photo), who is currently President Bashar Assad’s favorite intelligence persona. The
meeting kicked off the foundation of a club of Arab intelligence chiefs to be followed up in the coming months.
Although the Americans were involved, Israel was not given a look-in on the project. Its initial purpose, our sources reveal, was to bring together the head of Saudi General Intelligence Khaled Al-Humaiden and his Syrian counterpart, after a decade-long disconnect. It signaled a step towards mending the rift between the royal house in Riyadh headed by Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman and the Bashar Assad regime over the atrocities committed by the latter in Syria’s bloody civil war. DEBKAfile
Germany suspends certification of Nord Stream 2 pipeline . . . Germany’s energy regulator said it had “temporarily suspended” certification of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, dealing a setback to the Kremlin-backed gas project and sparking a rise in UK and continental European gas prices. The regulator said it could not yet approve the project, led by Russia’s Gazprom, because its owners had chosen to create a German subsidiary branch that
was not yet properly set up according to German law. The suspension comes at a critical time for European gas supply, with prices surging across the continent. Gazprom has been accused by some countries of restricting exports to western Europe to increase pressure on Germany and accelerate approval of the project. Financial Times
No Breakthrough After First Virtual Summit for Biden and Xi . . . President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping did not reach any “breakthrough” on issues concerning both nations, after their first virtual summit as heads of state on Nov. 15.
Biden said the United States will work to “advance an international system that is free, open, and fair,” raising concerns about the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights record and abuses he was aware of in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong.
According to the White House, Biden used the talks as an opportunity to “speak candidly and straightforwardly” to Xi about the intentions and priorities of his administration across a range of issues. Epoch Times

Amazon Reaches ‘First-of-Its-Kind’ Settlement With California Over Claims It Concealed COVID Cases . . . Amazon reached a “first-of-its-kind” settlement with California’s attorney general on Monday over claims it concealed COVID-19 case numbers from workers and local health agencies. The online retail giant left workers “in the dark” and unable to track the spread of COVID-19 throughout the pandemic, while failing to
adequately notify warehouse workers and local health agencies of the number of cases, the state’s Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement. In Bonta’s initial complaint, the attorney general alleged there were “multiple instances” in which Amazon did not notify workers within one business day about potential exposure to the virus, as required by California law. Biden's spending bill drops key child tax credit requirement that could pay out billions to illegal immigrants . . . President Biden's massive $1.75 trillion spending bill would drop a component of the child tax credit program that could lead to billions in payouts to illegal immigrants. Tucked away on page 1,647 of the Build Back Better Act, the Democrats' social spending package, is a provision that would repeal the
Social Security number requirement to obtain child tax credits. This change would expand child tax credits to parents of illegal immigrants who don't have Social Security numbers. Steven Camarota, a Center for Immigration Studies researcher, estimated that eliminating the requirement could result in up to $2.3 billion in additional child tax credit payouts to illegal immigrants. Bush Family Scion Sponsors Event With Blacklisted Chinese Company . . . A scion of the Bush family is lending his influence and family name to boost a Chinese government contractor blacklisted by the U.S. government for its links to the Chinese military. Neil Bush, the son of President George H.W. Bush, is a cosponsor of the International Symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technology that begins Nov. 18 in Beijing. Three co-chairmen
of the forum are executives with the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), a state-controlled contractor that builds China's military and space equipment. A subsidiary of CASC reportedly developed a hypersonic missile that the Chinese military tested in August. American officials called the nuclear-capable missile a "national security crisis" because of its ability to evade detection. Washington Free Beacon

Democrats Still Don’t Understand Asian American Voters . . . A rightward shift is underway for immigrant neighborhoods in New York City. The 2020 election had seen both Latino and Asian American populations swing toward the Republican Party. To some liberals, this might have seemed counterintuitive given Donald Trump’s rhetoric that is interpreted by some as anti-immigrant. But anyone who actually spends any amount of
time in these ethnic enclaves or bothers to talk to immigrant parents could have seen this coming. A strategy of broad but, ultimately, shallow antiracism talk by the Biden campaign wasn’t going to attract voters who either care much less about racial issues than many might assume or may even see its egalitarianism as anathema to both their American dream and the pathways to success for their children. There are great disparities among so-called Asian American voters, which certainly
makes sense given their wide range of countries of origin, class status and geographic location. But one thing they have in common is that they generally have been ignored by both parties in terms of outreach. New York Times
